Atlanta Braves 2026 season discussion. (1st half)

This is such a weird delay. I’ve never seen this before, trying so hard to fix the field for this long, while it’s still raining.

Come on Weiss, we've had enough injuries, don't chance it. Just say no. Tarp the field and let's try again later.

Last night when they were "fixing" the field while it was still raining made me think of Caddyshack. I was waiting for Bill Murray to say "I'd keep playing, I don't think the heavy stuff's gonna come for quite awhile. "

Thursday might be even worse, so no idea if they will be able to finish the series tomorrow.

I don't understand why they even started the game. Seriously, who commences a baseball game WHILE it's actively raining? Even if they thought the rain was going to end imminently, tarp the field and delay the start by 20-30 minutes. All they did was push the surface straight into unplayability (not a word, I know) and cost themselves any hope of getting the game in last night. Now you've burned a starting pitcher (not that Holmes was throwing well at all...maybe the conditions?) and will summarily tax the bullpen in today's split DH. Yeesh. Not a banner night for the Braves organization.

We are watching last year's team right now.

The Mets are not a good team, the Giants are not a good team. The Mets have not won since ATL left NY. If the Braves are as good as we have been led to believe this year, they should not be struggling against some of the worst teams in the league.

Kim 0-2, 2 Ks. This dude should never start again.

Ugh, we just don’t have any dependable pitchers besides Sale. Now that the offense doesn’t score anymore, that is a bad combo.

Ritchie throwing batting practice tonight. This one is already out of reach. No confidence in comebacks right now from this offense.
 
NL East lead is now down to 6.5 games.

Can’t believe how bad we have played against some really crappy teams lately.

The Braves better snap out of this quick or they are going to choke away a huge division lead.
 
3rd straight series loss.

All the injuries and no major moves in the offseason. This is the team I was expecting from the start. They played well above themselves for months, but now seem to be crashing back down to the norm.

We are lucky the lead is still 6.5 because it could have been 4.5 or 3.5 if the Phillies weren't also losing right now. They are 4-4 over the same stretch, compared to the Braves' 1-6.

Good news is there probably won't be a game tonight because of weather, so we will avoid the sweep for now.
 
With some vacation and now the world cup going on I haven't watched them much lately.

A bad stretch for sure. Injuries are taking a toll, seems like we get one back and lose another. Looks like we tried to make a comeback last night but it wasn't enough. The long ball hurt us as they scored 7 runs on 9 hits while we got 5 runs on 12 hits.

I think the Phillies are the ones that are lucky it is only 6.5 games right now. We are still +100 in run differential and they are -18. They should really be several games under .500 right now.

Yep 3rd straight series loss and 2 were to really bad teams. The wheels are coming off the season and AA will not do anything to fix it. Going out and getting a bunch of scrubs no one else wanted worked one time (2021) and now AA and Braves money people think it will always work.

The dodgers have passed us and the brewers and yankees will do it before the end of the week. philly will pass us before the all-star break.

I have been around here long enough for everyone to know that this isn't eeyore talk. It was fun while it lasted, but I think the season is all but done. We still might make the WC, but only because of the extended WC.
