News Article: Auburn blasts Cam Newton allegations

I read the article and nowhere in there is anyone denying the truth of the allegations so I would say they are spot on. Does college football really want someone with this kind of past as a Heisman trophy winner?

Let me see if I get this right; AD Jacobs you want me to believe that Cam;

- who has admitted buying a stolen computer,
- who lied to police,
- who attempted to destroy police evidence

and now has been accused of:

- stealing another student's paper
- cheating on tests
- shopping around his football skills

is an outstanding young man...sounds to me like he's an outstanding
'young criminal'

The Barners could have Terry Bowden come in and testify as to what a clean program they run down in Auburn, how they certainly would never pay for a player.

What I don't understand is how some people are saying that the Heisman should be awarded only for what a kid does on the field. They fail to realize that the DAC has guidelines regarding integrity and eligibility for candidates for the award.

After the Bush fiasco, they should be leery of having this backfire right back in their faces and see another winner disgrace the award.

You know how I know Jay Jacobs is lying?

His lips are moving.

This is a PR fiasco that the University of Aubarn is way behind on. They are in full damage control and are having to defend someone we have learned is not a boy scout after all.

Auburn put their whole football program on the line during the recruitment of Newton and knew if they could get Cam with all those Seniors they could make a great run and so far it has paid off in the polls and all the puff-pieces that have been written in their favor.

This is the standard in Auburn for an "outstanding young man".

I agree...yet some in the local media have said they are choosing to ignore it.

In defending Cam, both Jocobs and Chizik are saying that Cam has done everything they asked him to do. So what? What does that mean? :conf2:

And in Oxford, Houston is laughing his nutts off.

"Cam, don't steal anything. Cam, don't cheat on any papers or class assignments. Cam, don't run anymore redlights. Cam, don't lie to the police."

I think it also means that "Cam don't threaten physical violence against the victims of his crimes."

BURGL: UNOCCUPIED DWELLING UNARMED Second Degree Felony
LARC: THEFT IS 300 OR MORE BUT LESS THAN 5000 DOLS Third Degree Felony
OBSTRUCTING JUSTICE: INJ RETALIATE AGAINST INFORMANT VICTIM WITNESS Second Degree Felony

"Cam use some of that money we gave your daddy to pay somebody to write your papers for you this time instead of stealing another student's paper. Cam call your daddy and get some of that money to pay the cops so that you will be allowed to run red lights and such. Cam, remember to keep it down home cuz."
