I actually hope they try it! They don't have ANY team speed and NO receivers. Exactly how are you going to run a 5 wide set without 5 receivers or speed? Also, I'm not convinced Kody Burns can run that offense anyway...he has decent wheels but he's not a mobile and accurate QB...that was proven time and again this year.

Troy football coach could bring up-tempo spread to Auburn
Tony Franklin has taken the gospel of his up-tempo spread offense to colleges and high schools across the South.

Now the businessman, consultant, author and assistant coach may be just days away from bringing that upbeat style to Auburn University on a permanent basis.

Franklin has emerged as the leading candidate to replace Al Borges as Auburn's offensive coordinator, and could be named to that job by the end of the week, The Birmingham News has learned. Franklin wouldn't have far to go to get the job. He has been the offensive coordinator at Troy University the last two years. Troy head coach Larry Blakeney confirmed Tuesday that Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville has met with Franklin about the offensive coordinator position.

Auburn hired Tony Franklin as offensive coordinator Wednesday in a move that likely means a significant overhaul of the Tigers' mostly conservative offense.

Franklin, who will also coach quarterbacks, spent the past two seasons running his no-huddle spread offense at Troy and also is a former Kentucky offensive coordinator.

"Tony has had a tremendous amount of success offensively in the Southeastern Conference and during his most recent position at Troy,'' Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville said. "He teaches an exciting brand of offense that has posted some very impressive numbers, statistically.''

Franklin replaces Al Borges, whose resignation was announced on Tuesday, and will at least help coach the offense in the Chick-fil-A Bowl Dec. 31 against Clemson. Franklin said he wasn't sure who would call the plays in the bowl game.

No, no...that was George Bush. ;)

Not so fast my friend. Global warming was not invented, it was created. The creator in question, none other than Chuck Norris after a visit to a Lee County Waffle House.

And, I read it on the Internet so it must be true.

:)

They need to kiss their streak goodbye. Takes a couple of years to get the kinks worked out of their spread, by that time we will own the state. Good News.
