My Father owned a Shell station and I worked there when I was in school. Check the oil, cleaned the windows and checked tire pressure.
My grandfather also owned a Shell station, and I worked a few summers there at the pumps. It was pretty cool.My Father owned a Shell station and I worked there when I was in school. Check the oil, cleaned the windows and checked tire pressure.
I don't know about any other states but in New Jersey it's illegal to pump your own gas.I had a second job working at the local Amoco while I was teaching school. Worked on weekends mostly. Strange thinking back to the days when people had someone pump gas for them. Seems like so long ago. For me that was 40 years so I guess it is.
It's like that in other states too.....but not here, thankfully.....not yet anyway....I don't know about any other states but in New Jersey it's illegal to pump your own gas.
I can remember when futurists said that we would pump our own gas and would have to make appointments for service work on cars. I laughed...and was totally wrong. It's like that in other states too.....but not here, thankfully.....not yet anyway....![]()
Still? That's pretty hilarious.I don't know about any other states but in New Jersey it's illegal to pump your own gas.
Some of the comments are just crazy. Oregon, a great place to visit but I don't want to live there.Still? That's pretty hilarious.
Reminds me of the freakout when Oregon passed a law allowing people to pump their own gas under certain circumstances - the comments were quite entertaining: Oregon's Freak-Out Over Pumping Your Own Gas Shows Why Many Dumb Regulations Still Exist
Did you enjoy washing windshields when a summertime babe was driving or sitting in the front passenger seat?I had a second job working at the local Amoco while I was teaching school. Auction ended yesterday. She ended up going for $14K and change. I paid less than $2K for mine back in '05 from eBay. Pretty much the same car. That's the difference between a BaT auction and an eBay auction. There's a nice '70 Volvo 145S on BAT right now:
If I hadn't bought my 850, I would be interested.
I'll buy another 145S one day but this just isn't the right time.
