I went to the store and a car pulled up beside me. It was a pretty crimson Nissan Altima. On the front was a orange "T" tag. I said "Nice car" he said "thanks" Me "nice color too" him "yes it is" me wonder why you didn't buy an orange one?" him he said nothing. He knew I was a Bama nut.

Ill bet the hat he saw was one of those joke hats or shirts you get your friends that say they will never wear anything that says auburn on it. So what do your aubie friends do? buy you a shirt or hat with the exact same script/letters of your team in the teams colors you hate. I saw one tshirt that was orange and blue and said Alabama on the front of it. The giver was an aubie....the givee was one of us. These things do exist but they are hard to find.
And yes you should have bought it.

there are plenty of websites that will allow you to make a shirt like that. as a joke i made a purple and yellow shirt with bama rhetoric all over it for last year's bama/lsu game.
Hey Rossi: First of all the Barner line was a joke. Second, you first described the hat as burnt orange. The hat you are talking about that looks like red mud/orange is a hat worn by Major Applewhite at pratice and another coach or two. It is a far cry from burnt orange or actually orange. I am not positive where they got the hats, but one of the guys in the stands sitting next to us at last Sunday's scrimmage actually asked, "why is Major wearing a Texas hat at an Alabama practice?" It wasn't until he turned around and the guy saw the A that we convinced him the hat was red.
Again, I have no idea where he got it, but it is a pre-washed hat that looks like it has been worn for 4 years straight by a Bama baseball player and all of the crimson was dulled by dirt and mud.

It's not exactly as dull as the hat Major wears, but it is possible Major has been wearing his for a while.

We spent this weekend at the Silver Star resort and casino in Philadelphia MS where we attended a concert by Bill Engvall. (LMAO:biggrin
I saw just a few of the people who were wearing items from different schools. During the entire weekend I saw a total of 1 UT shirt, 3 AU shirts/hats, and 0 hats/shirts from Ole Miss, MSU or Southern Miss. But we saw a TON of Bama hats, shirts, car tags and other miscellaneous gear. Wherever we went, whether it was to a casino, restaurant, retail stores, etc., it seemed like every time we turned around we saw a Bama hat or shirt. If I had to guess, I'd say the ratio of Bama gear to that of other schools was about 50:1. :biggrin2:
