First of all, can anyone tell me when nat'l signing day is for basketball? I think if we land the shooting gaurd from nashville Jamont Gordon, along w/ Hendrix, Gee, George, and Coleman we could very well have the best class in the nation this year. Now i also think if we get him that we could have the best bama basketball team ever. YES, i know Winston and Shelton are gone, but tell me how easily it was for a team to beat us by shutting down shelton this year...but this upcoming year....there will be so much depth that we wont have to worry about that any more. If it isn't the best bama basketball team...it will sure be the deepest we have ever had, maybe even could match with the mighty wildcats of kentucky(depth). I'm expecting another big year for the crimson tide in the 2005-2006 season. JMO. Roll Tide!!

From what I understand, we won't get Gordon. WE have however, already signed Hendrix, Gee, George and Coleman. Which is a very good class.

Fyi

Jamont Gordon moved us back up to #1 on his list according to www.rivals.com. I watched him on espn last month and the kid is very athletic. He's a lefty and seems to shoot the ball fairly well.

Hey, LP. Who is Marbury? What are his specs?

If I'm not mistaken...

Schea Cotton was a lefty. He was very good at driving to the basket and scored alot of his points at the FT line.

While driving...

Lefties have less incentive to learn to use the right hand, since they're coming in to a righty defender from the "off" side he's not accustomed to seeing. At least, that's the way it's always seemed to me...

I am an optimist by nature, and I am already looking forward to next season.

Where we will be better next year is on the inside. Davis, Davidson and Brock will all have another year of experience under their belts, and hopefully will get stronger in the off season. Ron Steele will be better what with a year under his belt as well. Felix will hopefully be more consistent than the season just past. Jonus and Weber will hopefully be more comfortable in their roles.

I am cautious though in that Winston and Shelton took a lot of experience and a lot of points with them. Our newcomers are well thought of. I'd like to think that George and Gee and Hendrix will all come in and make solid contributions this year. If they do we will be pretty good indeed. But I think part of the reason that I was so optimistic the season just past was unrealistic expectations for the newcomers.

I wonder if Jamont Gordon's change of heart is related to KW announcing for the NBA?

The late signing period begins in April. I am not certain of the date, but the 25th comes to mind.

Good observation about Gordon, PJ. He has M$U at 2 and UCheat at 3. Interesting to see if his list of schools will change now that Pearl is the new coach at UT.

I think he has had M$U as a solid #2 during his recruitment, so they must be going after him pretty hard.
