Bama on CBS Several Times(Link)

I counted 6. Wow! However, that makes me very nervous. Living in the heart of the new and improved ACC, I almost never get the SEC game here. The local stations always run whatever ACC game they can get their hands on. I am then left to hope the Bama game is available on ESPN Gameplan. I got to see every game last year, so here's to hoping that luck continues this year.

TideFaninVA, I've got the same problem in Tallahassee. Hopefully I can watch a few 'Bama games. I see us on tv 11 times not counting PPV.

Middle Tennessee- ? Fox Sports South
Southern Miss -6:45 ESPN2
at South Carolina- 2:30 CBS
Arkansas- 2:30 CBS
Florida - 2:30 CBS
at Ole Miss- 11:30 JP or 8:00 ESPN2
Tennessee- 2:30 CBS
Utah State (HC) - 2:00 ppv
at Mississippi State- 11:30 JP or 8:00 ESPN2
LSU- 2:30 CBS or 6:30 ESPN or part of a CBS double-header w/ AUB vs. GA
at Auburn- 2:30 CBS
SEC CHAMPIONSHIP - CBS

Not too bad! Roll Tide!

I counted 7. USC, Ark., UF, Ole Miss., UT, LSU and Auburn. It looks like CBS is showing more games this year. The schedule show's 3 doubleheaders and 1 triple header. I wonder if this is a tenative schedule or if its offical? I know in the past CBS doesn't pick most of there games until the week before. Anyone know whats up this year?

Oops. Yeah, I just noticed that when I was updating my schedule on my office wall. I was coming in to edit it and you beat me to it. ;)

I'm not sure if this is tentative or not. But I was thinking the same thing you were about how CBS doesn't usually make their decision until much closer sometimes, depending on how certain teams are doing throughout the year.

Oops on my part. It'll be 8 times. I forgot the SEC championship game. ;)

just goes to show that Alabama is still a big TV draw, and CBS also must expect Bama to have a good year. Plus almost all those games are High Profile game( especially the Florida, Tennessee, LSU, and Auburn games) more than likely all those games will have National implications, as each one of them teams could very easily be in the 10 top when we play them.

Is some of these games like 'or' games. For instance, on 10/15 it says that CBS will have two games on at the same time. 12 noon EDT
Alabama at Ole Miss and Auburn at Arkansas.
Is that one or the other?

I could see a network broadcasting two games that are regional games, but isn't Alabama and Auburn / Ole Miss and Arkansas in the same region?
What is a local CBS station in Alabama going to do? What about a channel in Memphis?
It would make more sense to pick one or the other. Now if Bama and Ole Miss and South Carolina and Kentucky was playing then it would be considered a regional game.

I could sure use some more night games.

I think you're correct. If the game is the only game scheduled for a specific date or time, it is definitely a CBS game. The others are an "or" game. CBS will televise one leaving the other to be picked by ESPN, JP, etc.

I would like more night games. I'll take anything over a JP game especially if I'm attending. However, the Ole Miss game being played at 11:00, which is 30 minutes earlier than a JP kickoff, may play to our advantage.

It's just the way the dates are aligned on the left...

If you look closely, you can see the lines separating the dates and they have Bama/Ole Miss on the 15th.

Look again. They have Ga. vs. UT as the only game listed for the 8th. Bama vs. Ole Miss is scheduled for the 15th as a double header.

I hope that the UT game is at night. It's amazing how much louder the crowd seems after a nice long day of sippin' bourbon and coke in preparation for game time.
