BAMA vs. S. CAROLINA Predictions

Mediocre games against MTSU and S. Miss = loss at South Carolina.

Bama 10
South Carolina 28

I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see us coming close in this one.

You guys are crazy if you think S.C. will win by more than a TD.

28 points?

Good heavens, people, I know they have Spurrier, but it's South Carolina, not Florida. Since when did they get such an established QB and a corp of receivers? Sheesh, we still have a great defense.

Some of these predictions are defying logic...

Chalk me up with the bad guys. My lack of confidence in this coaching staff is still there (but getting better after the last two games). I still think that we are making too many mistakes and one will cost us. We were extremly fortunate last week with an incredible catch and a shoestring takle to win (notice I did not say lucky). If this game were in T-Town I would go with the Tide but since it is not I go with the Cocks. Hope I am wrong.

USC 24
Bama 21

I'm with you Tim.

Thank you.

I've never seen our people (Tidefans) so scared of a coach before. And that's it. A coach. If you people are gonna tell me USC is more talented than Bama, you need to seek help. We got a better D. We've got a better O.

Yeah, I said it. We are better than they are. Shocked?

p.s. We have not looked any worse this year than UT or Auburn. Especially UT, who many, including myself have penciled in as SEC Champs. We are a good football team people. Have a little faith and stop fearing the visor.

Looks like we have a wide range of opinions here. I am curious, if AL wins by a few TD's what does that mean and by the same token, if they lose by a few TD's what does that mean to the program??? If AL wins but gives up 400 yards does that mean that their offense is better than expected and the defense is overrated or is it just a fluke?

My opinion - AL is in a tough spot. SC has little talent and is learning a new system. The have a great coach and this will be a home game for them, but that is about it. In preseason, most fans on both sides had this penciled in as a sure win for AL. If AL wins, unless it really wins big, no one really cares (you know what I mean), they were supposed to; if they lose, it really looks bad for the rest of the season. Should a win give you a good jump in the polls (without taking into consideration other teams wins/loses this week)?

I am not scared of Spurrier, hell we have beaten him the last two times we have played him. But Shula has not beaten a team yet that is within our level. Now we may be better than USC but we are not miles better. I just have not seen anything to indicate that CMS and staff can beat a good team. CMS and staff have done a good job the last two weeks against mediocre teams so maybe I am wrong. I do agree that this week will tell a lot about how we will be.

Bama at SCarolina

Here we go...

Bama is going up against my alma mater, which usually means
I win no matter the outcome. Yet, when you grow up all your
life a Bama fan, college in Gamecock-land just can't change
your blood all that much.

These last two games, we've shown something I'm really not
used to. Has anyone else noticed that we're not playing the
typical "2nd half drag". I used to get so tense when Bama
would score early on in the game, and then seem to give in
after half-time. Whoever said "coming out swinging in the
2nd" hit the nail on the head.

This should be a good battle of a game! I'm pulling for Bama
all the way!

Alabama 20
S. Carolina 16

A well oiled machine.............

A fine clock...................

These things run smoothly.

Next saturdays game will feature a smooth running machine - unfortunatly, the smooth running machine will be in the form of NCAA sanctions.

I'm afraid we're not quite there folks. :frown:

Alabama - 13

South Carolina - 27

I hope you're right, Tider. How much do you think they will win by? ;)
This is certainly a case where I would like to be wrong..... :)

Seriously, I don't think they'll win by more than ten.

I could be wrong, too, but I just can't see it. They just aren't there, yet. If this game were played maybe later in the season, and Brodie went down again, then, yes. But as of this week...I just don't see it.

Even the media was saying D.J. Shockley and UGA were underperforming compared to what they did the week before. Plus, USC always gets up for UGA.

In fairness, though, I don't think Bama will blow out USC, either.

It will be close, and it could go either way, but I do believe the Tide will win.

Our D will rise to the occasion

Don't see our defense giving up more points than Georgia did.

Alabama 17
OldBallCocks 13

The world famous Bama worrier crowd, its what we're known for. I fault Coach Bryant for teaching fans to downplay the team. Of course, that was his shtick. He seemed to always say that "the team looked terrible in practice, we won't be ready for this game", then they would proceed to win by four touchdowns.

Despite mental breakdowns in the 1st 2 games

Alabama has yet to be scored on in the 2nd half. The adjustments made by the staff have been amazing at halftime.

Another point: This is the first game where the staff actually has game tape to look at. They did not have that for MTSU or S. Miss.

Point 2: Alabama's defense has only allowed 21 points in the first 2 games.

Point 3: Brodie will not make such a silly throw again. He gets better each game.

Point 4: S. Carolina can't stop the run, nor run at all.

Point 5: S. Carolina is having the same issues as we are on the OL.

Point 6: Alabama has shorted themselves longer drives and point by sill mistakes, penalties, turnovers, etc. They will get better each game.

I see the team playing their best game of the year. They know they are playin gon the road and they will be ready.

34-10 Bama

Actually, the defense allowed only 14, due to one score being by Brodie's silly throw, which I'm sure won't happen again. I don't think he'll be Santa Clause and give out any more treats this fall.

Those were great points. Thanks for the post, and good to see you back.

I agree with TiderinMiss. I don't look for this to be a blowout either way. I just don't think Bama is quite there yet. I give Bama the edge due to our strong defense, Croyle & Darby. I think the offense just needs to be efficient, dominate the line of scrimmage and get Darby started going early. I've been somewhat impressed with the adjustments made at half time by the coaching staff, something we didn't seem do well previously.
I would love to see our defense score off a pick in this game.
