Thanks

I e-mailed Lincoln Financial Sports for the first three SEC TV Games and this was their reply.

Lincoln Financial Sports first three SEC football telecasts are:
.
Sept. 1.. Western Kentucky at Florida
Sept. 8.. Alabama at Vanderbilt
Sept. 15.. Mississippi State at Auburn

Florida, looks like maybe we owe ya for taking one for the conference.

Florida didn't take one for the conference. They were told that they had to do it. You can tell from Foley's comments that he was just doing what he had to do. Basically, UA and UF both made their best arguments about why they should not have to play the early game, and it appears that the fact that we are playing the early game the following week is what saved us here.

That would be a bit much if we had to play the early game two weeks in a row. When will we know something definite?

Darn... if Bama plays at 6:00pm then it is going to interfere with me watching the Auburn game...

We definitely know that we do not have to play at 11:30 now. I suspect that the university will release an official game time in the next day or two, and it will almost certainly be 6:00.

Whether they are doing it voluntarily or begrudgingly, they are still "taking one for the conference." Someone was going to be drafted. I'm sorry it had to be Florida; however, I'm not sorry enough that I'd be willing to swap places with them.

At least now, we can all go out on Friday night 8/31 and celebrate the arrival of college football season without having to worry about being up at crack:30 on Saturday morning.

All I can say is thank goodness. With the string of 100+ degree days here, I would hate to know this would have been a morning kick. Granted, it should cool down a bit by Sept. 1st, but it will still make it easier on the fans in attendance and the players. I will be there though, no matter what, RTR!!! Labor Day weekend can't get here fast enough for me.

Like some of those here, I don't have access to PPV; don't have a ticket and I can't believe that Saban's first game is NOT on TV. Glad for the majority of you guys.........but sad for me. Eli and Kenny just don't do it for me.:p_sad:

I don't know what everyone's deal is about the game being on PPV. If you don't want to pay for it just do like I do. Go to a sports bar and watch it. The have those in Huntsville right? ;)

This is simply outstanding news!! I'm excited about the opener again!! I would have been there regardless, but glad we won't be suffering in the noon sun!

Go to Wings Sports Grille - order the Rooster. You'll have better food than most of the folks at BDS!!

Oh, and you really think we go to BDS for the food? :rolleyes

Frankly I could care less if they served any food at BDS...I go for the FOOTBALL! You might go for food, to me food isn't even a consideration. I don't care if they serve Coke, Pepsi or whatever...I just want to see the football games. I'll actually bet that I don't buy food 99.9% of the time and I am and have been a season ticket holder.
