Bama wins Fulmer Cup 2008

Winning the Fulmer Cup and things such as losing games to ULM are symptoms of the same disease - players either not buying into the Process or even incapable of so doing. I think Dr. Saban has aggressively treated the disease. Whether our program is fully cured remains to be seen, but we should at least be asymptomatic henceforth.
What's really funny is that UT has never won the Fulmer Cup. The guys who run this site are UF grads and named it after him.
i dont have the records of who won it each yr but i thought i read that it was named after fulmer for his ability to lead his program to a top 10 finish year in and year out.
It's been around since 2006 and 2007, so only 2 past winners. I think bama is in the all time lead last time I checked. But all-time here is obviously just 3 years and selling coke and armed robbery will get you some big time points. Here is a good page on the Cup.

Illinois is second in the all-time standings (we lead by 1 pt) and they consistently get in the double digits every year. Looks like we won't have the all-time lead for long. Kudos Ron Zook! They might have to change the name to the Zook cup if the players there keep getting into trouble.
You can parse a coaches disciplinary action or inaction for a drinking related offense or a disorderly conduct; but what Elder and Johns did is a no brainer for any coach anywhere.

Your opionion but the fact is UT has never won it. And I will say that UT has not had any more trouble than most other big time schools.
it isnt the number of incidents UT has had, it is the ambivalence shown by fulmer to those incidents. now we can argue as to whether that is truth or perception. But it is a commonly held perception.
Perhaps we have chosen the wrong audience before whom to defend the honor of this particular coach's name.
You will find no support for Mr. Fulmer on these boards, sir. Nor should you expect differently.

Pointing out facts without context doesn't hold much sway in these parts. Just because Phatimus hasn't won it, doesn't mean he hasn't been deserving given his past players' extracurricular activities and his seeming soft-handed discipline.

The facts are that CPF's reputation is as rotten as a 30-week-old tomato, that this reputation is particularly hightened among UA faithful, and that this is an Alabama board. Running to the defense of CPF in here is not simply 'stating the facts'. It is stirring the pot. Consider it stirred. I am obviously not an administrator, as you can tell from the fact that you have not yet been provided with a UF Gator avatar (although I am considering communicating said request through the appropriate channels). I will not, however, let any defense of certain persons occur here without notifying the defender of the error of his ways.

I will certainly concede this to be true. And as I stated, I don't expect you or other Alabama fans to like or support CPF. I just pointed out the fact that under his tenure UT has not had any bigger problem than most other big time schools. It's more of a society thing and all schools are feeling it.
