Beating Bama with Hurts at QB

My oldest is 20, and between him, his brother, their cousins and their many friends, not one would allow someone to tell them what they can say to their friends, and they talk to their friends via social media. But believe what you will.

Coaches have social media policies and don't lose their teams.

I'm 27 and use all social media platforms. If my boss told me to not use them, I would stop. Pretty simple.

If my son's boss told him to stop using them, he would quit. He is 20 and an idealist. But I don't use them because my company doesn't allow it, so I see both sides.

According to some folks here, some posted irresponsibly already. Never saw one of those posts, but they might have happened. So maybe he clamped down, but the world has changed a whole lot in the last 5 years.

I just don't see a social media ban influencing a players desire to play for his program. Clemson has had a ban since 2015, yes there's been a lot of change in 5 years but I'd say if the desire for any player to play for a coach was influenced by social media usage than maybe that would tell me more about the player instead of the program.

It would tell me that the player was strong and independent enough to be willing to play somewhere that his beliefs about individual expression were respected. Kids are idealists, until they sell out. We all sell out eventually.

I have never understood adults going on Twitter to read what 18-22 year old student athletes tweet, but that's me. I think we will know more about whether this team is focused, ready to play and determined or petty and divided on New Year's Day.

Twitter is a great way to follow the news. It's not just for children, it's for adults as well. We have celebrities, reporters, athletes, activism, people of all age that participate on twitter for many reasons. News are being released faster on twitter than anywhere else. I really think that anyone can use the twitter for the right reason.

There is nothing wrong with following players on social media, as long you do not contact them directly about something stupid.

I follow some players during their recruiting period, and I follow a few sports analysts year round. Other than that, I just follow Alabama and OSU - their official accounts. I don't follow active players for either Alabama or OSU - I did for a while but found that the alerts drove me crazy and I never read the tweets anyway.

I have my alerts set up for official accounts for basketball and football (Alabama, Alabama A &M and UAH (Basketball and baseball)) . Everything else, I just skip past it 90 percent of the time. If there is a breaking news, I'll get from my ESPN, CNN app.

I'm with you. It reminds me of the CB radio craze of the 70's. It seems when you talk on it, your intelligence drops several points.

I don't use Twitter or Facebook, I'm just old fashioned I guess. I tried both, didn't like them. I read my paper, watch the news, and chat on Tidefans......I'm all good

I think it's obvious Tua is a better passer but there is more to playing the position than just passing.
Jalen needs to take ownership of the offense. Sometimes I'd like to see him angry if a receiver drops a pass, doesn't turn up field on 4th to get the 1st down, a lineman or running-back misses his assignment.
He's been a starter for two years. This is his chance to LEAD the offensive players around him to pick it up a notch and not be denied. There are times when a calm, laid back, always under control attitude is not what's needed from the offensive leader. It may be time to put his smoking pistols in their holster and start grabbing a facemask. Accept no less than 110% from those around him. Idon't think I can watch if he calmly steps out of bounds for a nine yard loss, without me throwing a fit.

Some guys are born with it. I can overlook it as a true freshman, but not from a 25 game starter. He doesn't have to be the star, but he must be the leader. At this point in his career he better reach deep and find it or another alpha will take it from him, and he'll not get it back. -

I'm starting to get fired up. It's building. I hope he's got it in him.:biga:

I got fired up watching Tua play the ukulele today on a few of the Bama sites I like on facebook. It made me want to go back and re-read his bio, his stats, some personal facts about him, etc. That lead to me watching some of his highlights again. I really like him and hope he does not transfer. I like Jalen also. I just want Tua to get a few chances in the Clemson game. It would be neat to see him in there for a few plays.

I just want to see Hurts throw the ball away while being chased out of the pocket and not running backwards 8 yards only to run out of bounds. Is that asking too much?🤔
