They'll remember a lot because tomorrow they will be poor!

I really think Geldof is doing a great gesture in raising money. Hopefully, they will get it channeled into the right hands for distribution and not depending on the governments of these countries to distribute the money. Bono seems savy enough to know the political games.

The problem remains: Give a man a fish and he eats for a day, teach him how to fish and he eats for a lifetime.

Agreed. As ambitious as this event is, I don't see

how forgiving the world's poorer nations' debt will help much in the long run if their governments remain corrupt and if they don't reform their economic systems.

LATEST: The BBC has apologised to outraged viewers after stars including MADONNA and SNOOP DOGG peppered their performances with swear words at yesterday's (02JUL05) UK Live 8 gig.

http://contactmusic.com/new/xmlfeed.nsf/mndwebpages/bbc sorry for swearing stars

I tried to watch some the concert yesterday, but, every time I turned it on, it was like watching the Jerry Lewis telethon at 3AM.

45 seconds of some act's performance, followed by 30 mins. of chit-chat from the current veejays.

A waste of time.

the coverage on vh1 and mtv was HORRIBLE!!!

:mad2: a few examples; during stevie wonder performing they went to commercial, before the who had completed won't get fooled again they went to commercial. the only good set was pink floyd and it too was flawed! they went to commercial during compfortably numb. they did show 3 songs by then in their entirety though. guess i'll have to wait on the dvd!
