Big 10 fans are ****ed over games being moved to Peacock network after NBC bought into the Big 10. Their biggest gripe is OSU vs. Maryland game being broadcast on the streaming platform. Unfortunately, this will eventually become the future for all CFB. Will have to wait and see what SEC and ESPN do with streaming games but I expect games such as Bama vs Vandy, (just an example) would be moved to a streaming service to make room for the addition of more marque games with OU and UT in the conference now. There's only so many TV hours on a Sat for ESPN, SECN to broadcast games. Also wouldn't rule out SEC and ESPN following the NFL model and having a Thur night game.

I don't know what they are getting so butt hurt about. Cable is so freaking expensive now. We just cut the cord. If you can stream hulu live and peacock. You can pretty much have all your bases covered.

It is difficult to overstate how damaging it is long-term to a sport to have games moved from broadcast (which are ultimately available everywhere else as well) to various pay formats, in particular these kind of niche offerings.

A sport grows when more people are exposed to it. I recall reading somewhere that the NFL prioritized broadcast in their deals in particular to continue gaining exposure for their brands.

I have Peacock because I get it for free, but I tend to forget or not know when they have something live going on because I only use it to watch particular programs when I want to. It's not good for exposure...

I remember ESPN reporting that viewership for the BCSCG dropped by around 20% and they reported it as though it was a lack of interest driving this. Interestingly enough, at the same exact time the game was moved from broadcast, to ESPN of all places, where there was you guessed it, about 20% less households (gap has to be larger now) had access to ESPN...

THIS! Why wait for the goose to lay the golden egg when you can cut open the goose and get all the eggs?

Comcast Xfinity has removed Peacock as a free perk. Now they want you to pay. I declined. I had Peacock free for 5 years. I don't watch it enough to pay for it. I can get it now for 1 year for $1.99 a month. Thinking about it.

There are deals all over the place so if you don't want it continiously you can get it cheap, but if you been with them for 7 years (I have been internet only, since they continue to give me discounted rates) it shows up as a reward perk, I think it's free for two years or something?
