Can't speak for Jon, but I know he is a racist because of a million things he has done and said. E.g., "I have black guys counting my money.... I hate it. The only guys I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes all day. Laziness is a trait in blacks. It really is, I believe that." As quoted in a book by John R. O'Donnell, former president of Trump Plaza Hotel & Casino. In a subsequent interview, Trump said that "the stuff that O'Donnell wrote about me is probably true."
and the obama birth certificate crap

Bo needs to focus on taking care of his baby and not worrying about yelling F Trump. It's amazing he's maintained three years of eligibility as it is.
So I take it that Bo's parental skills are not up to your standards. I never knew his eligibility had any issues. I've enjoyed watching him play, and still wish he saw more touches in last year's title game.

Haven't read through the thread but just watched (and listened to) a YT video and if it is authentic......and I don't know if it is.......there's no mistake.......Trump was yelled......not Georgia.

I really don't care either way.

That's amazing. He sounds like he's saying Georgia to me.

It is so obvious we as Americans are so far apart I doubt we can ever become united again. I believe our President is doing a great job and doing what is best for our country. Others believe exactly the opposite. How can we fix this? I am almost 60, worked hard all my life, college educated (some at UA), and consider myself very normal and rational. Not rich and not poor, just a regular working person. I don't understand how I can see things one way and others see things totally different? I sometimes wonder about the sanity of others and I know they feel the same.

Did everyone think Bo loved Trump before that?

He just possibly said out loud what probably 75% of the players feel.....

A bit classless, but not surprised, upset or disappointed. He’s got a right to say it, if he did. To each....his own.

I've seen absolutely no evidence that Trump is racist. He's not, and never has been.
When a black woman asked to rent an apartment in a Brooklyn complex managed by Donald Trump’s real estate company, she said she was told that nothing was available. A short time later, a white woman who made the same request was invited to choose between two available apartments. The two would-be renters on that July 1972 day were actually undercover “testers” for a government-sanctioned investigation to determine whether Trump Management Inc. discriminated against minorities seeking housing at properties across Brooklyn and Queens.

Two former Trump employees, a husband and wife who rented properties, were quoted in court documents as saying they were told that the company wanted to rent only to “Jews and Executives” and “discouraged rental to blacks.” The couple told the government’s lawyers that they were advised that “a racial code was in effect, blacks being referred to as ‘No. 9.’ ” Trump employees had secretly marked the applications of minorities with codes, such as “No. 9” and “C” for “colored,” according to government interview accounts filed in federal court.

In October 1973, the Justice Department filed a civil rights case that accused the Trump firm, whose complexes contained 14,000 apartments, of violating the Fair Housing Act of 1968.

Screaming obscenities never works out well for your cause, whatever it may be (unless it's freedom of obscenity-hollering, I suppose). Verbalized obscenities tend to lower one's level of respect in the general public, regardless of how specific individuals or segments of the public feel. Bo's political positions and/or my political positions are irrelevant to the veracity of these two statements.

I do not care what any member of the team thinks regarding politics, and I do not care what they say. Freedom of speech is the right of every American. Institutional limits (team rules, etc.) are not mine to enforce, so I'm not bent out of shape regarding those, either.

I do wish that Bo had shown better judgment. I hope better for everyone always, though, so I hope that this is a learning opportunity for him.

Whether he said Trump or Georgia it just shows how classless he is.
If you don't think that 100% of the people on our sideline have said something similar at some point in their lives I've got some beachfront property in Montana to sell you.

Not sure who I slighted there.

To be clear, I am not overly concerned about this whole situation. I only hope that a young man sees how public reaction can be, and grows in wisdom.

you said "Verbalized obscenities tend to lower one's level of respect in the general public"

I have seen our coaching staff, including coach Saban verbalize obscenities, including the one Bo used many, many times so therefor I assume you have very little respect for people like our coaches

I have seen much of it as well, from coaches to Presidents.

I believe that verbalized obscenities tend to work against a person, no matter how talented they are. This has nothing to do with whether or not I respect them or whether or not everyone says the same. It's just one of those truisms that (IMO) any public figure - including athletes - should know.

To get to the specific objection about our coaches, my respect level was not what I was stating. I have lost respect for no one over this. I have stated that verbalized obscenities lower the respect level of the general public. Yes, that means that some people respect CNS less when his eruptions place objectionable language in the public forum. Whether you or I think it should be matters not. It is what it is.
