A friend of mine sent this to me and I found it very interesting.

Throwin’ the bomb

Alabama quarterback Brodie Croyle competed in the quarterback long distance contest at the ninth annual College Football All-Stars Challenge at Dolphins Stadium on Monday in Miami. Croyle won with a throw of 68 yards. He beat out Vince Young of Texas, Drew Olson of UCLA and Charlie Whitehurst of Clemson in the ESPN made-for-TV event. Look for it on ESPN on Saturday at 3 p.m.

I wonder if UAB's QB was in that contest. I remember him bragging on the news one night that he had a stronger arm than Brodie. Brodie just shrugged it off and said. "it don't really matter, a strong arm will only get you so far anyway."

Harold Carmichael, ex-WR for the Eagles could supposedly chunk it the length of the field. He said that if he caught a TD pass in the Super Bowl, (1981 I believe) that he'd make the longest spike in history, from one end-zone to the other. Alas, he didn't get a chance.

George Brett was in awe of Bo. He said he'd give practically anything to spend just one day in Bo's body.
even though he was an aubie, it sure was a shame that his body gave out on him so soon. he had the wear-with-all to have one of the greatest professional athletic careers in history.

and he appears to be a decent and humble man.

Speaking of Bo, he has something in common with a number of us: he doesn't like Tommy Tubesocks very much.

I fear that if Brodie does go to the NFL that the defenses will be aiming for his knees.
The NFL fines for cheap shots like that.

His knees are better than original after the surgeries. He didn't have any trouble with the one repaired in high school (left one?).

There are also a few unwritten rules within the league against targeting a player's knees on top of the incredible amount of fines and suspension that defender would have to deal with.

If a defensive linemen does this, you can bet he won't finish the game with his own legs intact.

Offensive linemen can "fall" on knees just as easily. ;)
