I just don't think that is good enough. We have a coach that has matched and, arguably, surpassed Bryant. The dominance that Bama has seen over Saban's tenure is more than the dominance during Bryant's tenure. Will Saban match Bryant's overall wins? Maybe, if he coaches long enough. He's already surpassed Bryant's bowl wins and national titles. Saban is every bit as good as Bryant, better in many people's eyes. History will look back on this time period in awe and wonder how this coach was able to dominate for so long in this age of modern college football. It is unprecedented.
If Bryant's achievements were great enough to add his name to the stadium, which happened before he retired, then Saban's should be a slam dunk. The precedent was set back in 1975 that this kind of greatness gets you name on the stadium.
Renaming a street, park or other area just doesn't seem like enough. I mean, Bryant has the stadium, a street, a conference center and a Museum (probably even more that I'm unaware of). Eventually, Saban deserves the same kind of honors IMO.
Bryant-Denny-Saban Stadium gets my vote.
University Blvd becomes Nick Saban Blvd.
Dare I suggest, the Paul W. Bryant Museum becomes the Paul Bryant & Nick Saban Museum of Dominance and Greatness.
