I was wondering what everyone thought about his future position.
I just felt that Nick would put him in as a shutdown corner or Running back due to our depth at WR.

He will play offense more than likely. Think "playmaker" position. IE: Prothro, Percy Harvin etc.

If he truly is like Harvin I guess you can't lose with him even as a freshman WR, and paired with Julio we should still be strong at that position.

I just hope we can find someone who can start opposite of Kareem Jackson at cornerback. Just hoping we have a guy developing that can come in and make a an impact out of nowhere like Rashard did this year

Shut down corner. DUH! He knows that. And whoever said Saban has already told him that; A. I need and link or B. you must be personal friends with Saban. We need one because of the loss of Castille. With talent at WR like Jones, McCoy, Alexander, Gibson, Stover, Oakley, etc. Why would you put him there.

amen..... i wish that he would play that corner he and jackson would be some pair.

5-11, 194, 4.4.......Rating of 6.1

Rb, WR, DB????????????

I think:

DB.........what a four year anchor (three if he left early)

RB.........great speed, good size.....would pick up 10/15 in the weight program. If he did not loose any speed he would be a real threat........and we have the OL help coming in a big way to open some holes!!!!!!

We have enough WR talent...taller too......seems to me to be most needed at some DB position.......would help shut down one side to passing!!!!!!!!!!!What a show stopper he could make.

Let him compete where-ever he wants. Ill take a guy that can run a precise route over a tall guy any day.

Ultimately he'll play wherever the staff feels he can help the team most IMO. I don't think it really matters where he plays because he's going to be terrific on offense or defense but I sure would like to see him with the ball in his hands 15+ times a game! :biggrin2: OTOH, I think defense will likely be his quickest way to a starting position.

I remember reading a while back when he commited that the real draw to Bama was that he was told he could play offense. Florida wanted him as a DB and he didn't want to play defense. So I'm pretty sure he wants to play offense, and we TOLD him he could. The rest we will just have to see. I'm very excited about him though.

From the linked article:

It was about Alabama's offense that lured Scott the most as other schools wanted his services for defense includng Auburn.

Not arguing, but I read more than one article saying basically the same thing. We'll need help on both sides, with Castille, Hall, and Brown all leaving. I would hope that we get a spark out of our group of current receivers and tack on hopefully Jones and Ray.

He may say he wants to do offense now, and the staff might be fine with that.

But - he also might get on campus and see that he can start as a freshman at CB or be in the rotation at WR and change his mind.

Either way, he's a stud.

Let us not forget about Chris Lett out of Pensacola who was injured this year. I have heard nothing but good things and he may be your shut down corner.

We can only hope and pray that the medical staff can control his diabetes to be able to play successfully and consistently again. He couldn't make it through the first week of practice, bless his heart.

Just out of curiosity, how was he able to practice and play in high school if his diabetes is that out of control? I really hope they get this figured out for his sake.
