Comeuppance is one word. No hyphen. Also, do a little research on OPEC history. They have pulled everything from a bald raise in prices, to cuts in production to a complete oil embargo.

You said: " Don't know if you know what a "Dixiecrat" is or not, but the term derived from the south taking a hard stand on things like school integration, etc. George Wallace, Lester Maddox, et al. You see, I grew up in the era when blacks were referred to as the N word, regardless of their age. As a matter of fact, i've seen old black men and women being called the N word to their face. A lot of these people that call themselves conservatives never lived through those times."
It so happens, I lived through that era and many before it. Dixiecrats were simply an offshoot of the Democrat Party. The whole segregation business, from start to finish, was a Democrat production.
Democrat legislatures and governors passed the segregation laws. Democrat sheriffs and police chiefs enforced them. There were no Republicans in office in those days. It wasn't until the late 1950s that the GOP began making a small noise in states like Mississippi and Alabama.
Peachy, I suggest you hit the history books again with an objective eye. Most of you liberals simply sound off in ignorance of a subject or its relevance. I have no hope this will make a dent in your skull, but there's always that wild chance ...
But since you introduced segregation into a discussion of oil prices:
The South voted almost totally Democrat since the Civil War. Lincoln's Republican administration had waged the war that subdued Dixie and freed the slaves. Southerners were not about to forget it. They were also not about to forget the GOP, which they cast into political darkness. This is the Democrat Party you liberals worship so slavishly today.
I think one of your problems is that you have modern Republican conservatives mixed up with the Democrat racists of yesteryear. This is very farfetched, but I've never seen a liberal who couldn't stretch one molehill of misstatement into a mountain of confusion.
By the way, congrats on discovering the capital key.</font>
