Bye, Bye Trev

Personally, I'm sick and tired of the daytime crew. I'd like to see a crew comprised of Kirk, Trev, and Rece. But this will never be.

I concur. That would be the best possible crew.

I always liked Trev. He stood out to me as one of the best.

I think Ivan is a no-brainer for this position. He's been getting a lot more work in lately and seems to be all over the place. I know he did a ton of work with ESPN News this summer for college football. I think he'd be a great fit honestly.

No other real competition out there for ESPN.

Why couldn't they have fired Joe Morgan instead?

That makes me really sad!! Trev hates Tubs and likes Alabama and Coach Shula(words straight from his mouth) alsoTrev is an awesome speaker(obviously) he came and spoke at my school's FCA 2 years ago!!

Good Luck Trev!!!

:biga2:

Business is Business

Trey played hardball, and paid for it.

He was not willing to wait his turn.

No biggie. He'll pop up somewhere else. If he's as good as he thinks he is, then this can be a positive move.

I'll miss his non-PC remarks, though.

Trev played this the way that he did because he knew that he had other options. He is very talented and will pick up the trail with another network.

I say, Good Luck, Trev! You've always called 'em like you saw 'em!

I love your sig. I am thinking of changing it to: "We are not National Champions, but we did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night." Tommy Tuberville.

Now that's the perfect sig....

Mark May and Corso are idiots

I agree with what has already been stated that Rece and Trev should be added with Kirk to make the best gameday team.

Corso does amuse me sometimes, but listening to Mark May just infuriates me because he is a moron!

The real idiot on Gameday isn't Corsoe but Chris Fowler. I can't wait for Rece to get his job.

Problem...

on a move to ABC is that ABC owns ESPN. (ABC is, of course, in turn owned by Disney.) A move to ABC by a fired ESPN employee is not likely...

I doubt it...

Rece has to walk on eggs about not seeming partisan, even when he's hurting inside (the last few seasons). Trev could say nice things because he's from Nebraska...

If CBS were smart, they would pick Trev up, being Blackledge left them to go to ABC. If I had to guess where Trev would be next, I would have to say CBS. Either CBS or TBS.

J-P isn't smart enough to hire him...

If the reason Trev left ESPN was because he was tired of playing second fiddle, I doubt he'd settle for JP anyway. However, he could BECOME JP. He'd definitely be the head-honcho there.

Wanting something of their own

.. As far as his discontent and the phone calls to management, Alberts said that both began long before Sunday.

"It wasn't just this weekend," he said. "There were conversations for awhile. I fully understood the privilege of the seat I sat in. And it was never about wanting to be part of the GameDay crew. But no matter what business you're in, if you're not respected internally, you're going to have a hard time being respected externally."

...

"The GameDay guys have earned that," Alberts said. "Mark, Rece and I, we had searched for something we could call ours. All we wanted was something we could take ownership of. We felt like the midnight wrap-up show was ours, but as the season began I could see that we'd be more of a support crew for [Fowler, Corso and Herbstreit].

"Never once did I say, Why aren't I on commercials? Why aren't I making more money? I'm a huge fan of all these people who work at ESPN, including Mark [Shapiro]. It's just a matter of not wanting to be marginalized."
From: CNN/SI Article

Just wanting something of their own is a good thing to shoot for. They deserve that. Best of luck to Trev. He'll land on his feet soon.
