Showstoppers unveilvedANAHEIM, California - There are numerous top prospects decorating both rosters for the California and Florida all-star teams in the Air 7 CaliFlorida Bowl.
Defensive lineman John Paul is one of the many top players on the Florida roster at the CaliFlorida Bowl.
Headlining the show is five-star Florida commit Tim Tebow, the No. 1 rated player in California Allen Bradford and a long list of nationally recruited players like the talented Jonas Mouton, John Paul, James Montgomery, and C.J. Spiller.
Miami-bound defensive back Ryan Hill has been playing well all week along with linebacker A.J. Jones who coaches have given much praise. Florida-bound athlete Jarred Fayson will probably leave the quarterback duties to his future Gator teammate Tebow, but he will get a lot done on Saturday at wide receiver.
Califronia standouts make first day noiseThe first practice of the seventh annual Air 7 CaliFlorida Bowl featured several showstoppers on both the Florida and California teams. While numerous players passed the eyeball test, several of those backed that up with great early play on the field.
Tim Tebow was all focused from the beginning to the end of practice during day one at the CaliFlorida bowl.
The list includes sleepers and highly touted products of both talent-rich states. It seemed like things started for California on defense. While their defense has some of the nation's top products, it is outside linebacker/safety prospect Allen Bradford who looks the most ready to go on day one.
The California squad had a spirited first practice earlier today. With Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei head coach Bruce Rollinson running the show, this was by far the most organized and well run opening practice we've seen from an all-star team in some time. Here's a quick run down of some of the standouts on both sides of the ball.
Allen Bradford was all over the field in day one of the CaliFlorida practices.
The first few days of practice, whether it be an all-star game or otherwise, the defense is always ahead of the offense and that was the case today. When the teams went 7-on-7 or 11-on-11, the defense really dominated. The line got great push up front, the linebackers were swarming and the defensive backs didn't have to cover the receivers for very long as the quarterbacks were scrambling early and often.
