I'm as big a Bama basketball fan as I am a Bama football fan, so I'm always excited about the season starting, but I have to say I am especially excited about this season.

First off, we have one of the best overall players in the country in Ronald. I definitely think he's the best point guard in the country.

JD should only be better this year. Hollinger's solid.

I expect Hendrix and Gee to only get better, especially Richard could really be good this year.

Only thing is who is going to step up to provide depth. Need to find at least one inside guy to help out RH and JD, physically Yamene looks ready and maybe we can get some minutes from either Jemison or Jukes.

Then hopefully we find at least two guys to help out on the perimeter from a group that includes Cloyd, Tubbs, Torrance, and Riley.

If we don't suffer any major injuries and we find 2-4 new guys that really step up and help us out with out depth we should be very good.

Cannot wait to see how we turn out.

good post. i saw coach G and alot of the players today on campus, and it reminded how soon the season is really from being here. this year is gonna be an awesome one for us. not only do we have tons of talent, but they have chemistry that all great teams HAVE to have!

Nice post and I can't wait either. I don't live in Chicago anymore, I'm in Raleigh N.C. in the middle of Bball country and I'm getting pumped. Here are some of my thoughts:

Our two best ball handlers are Steele and Hollinger. We need a shooting guard to step up so Hollinger can spell Ronald and we always have a ball-handler on the court. If we want to make a deep run Steele can't play 40 min./game.

We should be a very good rebounding team with Davidson and Hendrix on the floor. If Coleman steps up, so much the better.

If Gee finds his three-point shot, look out! He's one of the best slashers we've had in awhile.

Steele and Davidson will provide a lot of great leadership which we'll need on the road.

I would like to see more offensive movement and defensive intensity. We're not bad defensively I just hope that we are intense. This made a real difference with Florida when they hired Shayatt (spelling?).

I am looking for Gee to break out. I really think he can be a star in college and make it to the next level with his athleticism. This season is going to be great. I am glad Ronald is getting the respect he deserves. I have yet to see a preview that does not have him as the best PG in the nation. The minute I saw him play, I knew he would become one of the best Point Guards in the nation. I have also played with him at the Rec. He seems like a great guy.
