CBS intentionally misleads America

Why has CBS

picked up so many BAMA games this year? I can't remember for sure, but I don't think they have carried so many of our games in consecutive weeks for the past several years. Thanks to "Katrina" I haven't been able to watch any of them. I've never missed so many BAMA games. Thanks to Simon B. I can watch them later.

We were on CBS three times in '04. Three times in '03. Three times in '02. Four times in '01. Three times in '00. Five times in '99.

We've been on four times so far this season with LSU and Auburn still possibilities.

fact:Alabama had not beaten UT in BD since 1917.

fact:The game had not been played in TTown for a great number of years during that time.

CBS mentioned both. Hardly a conspiracy.

The statement was probably said as a poor attempt to increase the dramatic flair of the game rather than to incite or mislead anyone. CBS has a TV contract with the SEC and I doubt it's in their best interest, or any of their interest at all I would imagine, to waste their time on conspiracies against any SEC school.

Lastly, conspiracies usually are designed to have some sort of relevant effect on the outcome of a situation. Since this was really only used during the game, therefore only heard by fans, what effect could it possibly have had on the game itself? And if even it was meant to incite Bama fans, then I'd have to say that the author of this topic has played a large part in the alleged conspiracys' success.

It's like the Finebaum thing.....he incites Bama fans because he knows many are stupid enough to not only tune in, but to then rebroadcast his message to others, thereby validating him.

hey....maybe it really was a conspiracy, after all. A conspiracy, by definition, takes at least 2 parties to be involved. If nothing had been said by anyone then CBS would've been the only party involved. No conspiracy in that. but now that we've got posters plastering this on the net, we now have enough to qualify. So congrats, your a victim of your own paranoia.

Conspiracy achieved.

;)

That's what these National Media outlets do. Just like during the Florida game verne kept saying that Bama had never beaten a top 5 team in Tuscaloosa. But they only said one time late in the game that Bama for years played all the big games in Birmingham. They are too lazy to look for an actual storyline in the game and just grab one liners and run with them. I don't like CBS for one reason only and that is their coverage can't even tough the coverage ESPN does. ESPN has better broadcaster's during the game, better camera work, cut out of the game for commercials and other games less, and their broadcaster's are more knowledgable of the game. verne has no clue what he is doing and I have always enjoyed watching Kirk on ESPN. I actually listen to what Kirk says and respect his opinion. verne on the other hand is just a talking head.

Hey, Brilliance, I clearly didn't say thinking about Alabama football was a waste of time, so please check your reading comprehension before quoting and criticizing. :D I doubt anyone who visits this board considers it a waste of time. However, my point was that many who visit this board seem to think everything someone says about Alabama is some great conspiracy to bring us down. I doubt most people care, and they shouldn't. I don't care about every little thing that happens in other programs. I worry about us and how we are doing, which, by the way, is very good right now. The Crimson Tide nation should be happy. 7-0 Roll Tide. :biggrin2:

Good post. I hear Finebaum is the best now that he put out a favorable AL article.... maybe Lou Holtz is next. At least now you do not have to worry about them saying that you havn't beaten TN in 75 yeears or a top 5 team in Tusc.... :)

I'm not sure why you all are so amazed;

CBS has been misleading people for years. Remember not long ago the election period of President Bush and how big a scandel that was.
That's what happens when your upper enchilon is all democrat. :)

ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!

producers look for stuff like that to push when preparing for a game...but they didn't make it up...facts are facts...anybody who knows their arse from a hole in the ground knows Alabama has tradition on its side against ANYONE

Doesn't matter now . . .

We're 2-2 against them while playing short-handed the last four seasons. They can't blame talent as the reason.

We've beaten them at home, we've beaten them away. We've beaten them every which 'a' way.

We've beaten them at Legion. We've beaten them at Knoxville. We've beaten them at Bryant-Denny, in spite of Fat Phil.

Against them, we've won 44. They not as much. As for CBS, who cares? They're definitely out of touch!

go trenda, get your game on, go trenda.. lol
