Alabama’s Ty Simpson Will Take the Next Step

The Tide quarterback might have been off against Florida State, but he tuned everything up last week, hitting all 17 of his passes against ULM for 226 yards and three scores with a rushing touchdown.

This week, the downfield throws will continue to be there, Bama will overcome a good Badger first quarter, and then comes the real fun with the trip to Georgia next.
Alabama vs Wisconsin Prediction: Can the Badgers Give the Tide a Fight?

I’ll take it!

We need to play very well before going to UGA. As I said in another thread, I'm not back on the DeBoer train until I see how we prepare and play at UGA. Can the staff get the team prepared to win on the road in a big-time SEC environment?
Shoot, get back to me after week 12.

Lots of climbing to get out of the hole DeBoer has dug for himself in my world.

I think we have to be careful not to make the Georgia game a make or break situation.

Most "experts" predicted we'd lose this game anyway.

I think the important thing is for them to keep building and getting better.

Play great against Wisky and it should be a win.

Play great against UGA and it's still probably a toss up. While we want a win, a loss isn't the end of the season as long as we compete and don't "beat ourselves."

But, from there on out, there's no room for error if we want to be in the playoff!

EDIT: This is not a salve for "moral victories" but since we've witnessed the FSU debacle, all I'm saying is it matters how we play whether we win or lose, IF this team is going to challenge for the playoffs.

Wins and losses mean a lot less to me than execution and effort.

If Bama plays well, plays hard, plays smart and comes up short, I'll tip my hat to the winner.

But in reality, if Bama actually does those things, they should beat everyone on the schedule.

I'm not counting a win/loss as success or failure. I'm wanting to see if they are PREPARED to win AND PLAY to win. None of that guarantees a win, but it would sure tell me that the staff has made changes to how they prepare. All we can ask as fans is that the team (including the coaches) is fully prepared and goes out and executes. If they do that and still lose, then the better team just won. It happens.

We are in violent agreement on those matters!

I want domination by the defense in this one. Wisconsin's QB doesn't run so theoretically this should be a good matchup for us.

Intensity vs Wisconsin needs to be there. They showed it last week as a response to what happened at FSU. Now, can they bring it again after a success.

If they can do that vs Wisconsin.....what do they look like vs Georgia in Athens.

Georgia, on the road......does it wind up looking like DeBoer's other road games.....where we look unprepared again and he looks lost on the sidelines? If Georgia gets up early or even responds to us getting up early....do they collapse again? Show me the fight you've got and lose and that'll be progress. I don't care if you're down 21-0 in the 1st quarter....fight.

I think we pretty much sank our playoff chances last week. At least let's fight as hard as we can go the rest of the way and see how everything falls.

ND lost to Northern Illinois and made the playoffs…
We lost to what is now 2 weeks later a top 10 team, not a directional school….we need to win, but we’re not out…

Excited to see how Bama looks but no idea how we will. I can’t predict under this staff which I guess entertainment wise is exciting at least.

I'll take that score. But look for something like 45 to 3. I look for intensity, effort, excitement, and desire to win to continue. Hopefully, the team gets it now. They know what it takes to win, and win big. So get it done!

A year ago, we almost got in with 3 losses, two of them bad. There's plenty of good wins left on our schedule. And their new selection criteria benefits us this year. If we only lose one more and as long as it's not Eastern Illinois, we should be a lock
