I don't know if we get in or not, right now I don't think we will, but I know if this was a regular season game SMU would drop 5-6 spots so why not now!

Because it‘s not a regular season game.

I think we needed them to lose by a big margin to jump them.

If we are out, I wonder how many players will opt out and who we will play and if we will even win our bowl game.

Bama should be in the playoffs according to SOS and other metrics. Committee ranked SMU and others too high all season and now have backed themselves into a corner. I don't trust them at all but hope I am wrong.

I'm guessing that a few are already mulling it over.

Drop the Conference Championship games and go to a 16 team playoff.
Alabama, Ole Miss and South Carolina would all beat SMU.

I could not have scripted a worse outcome last night.
I hope we get in because Bama is my alma mater and because I am afraid our players will jump ship if we don't.
If we had played Indiana's schedule we would be undefeated.

Wish I could agree; but this team is too inconsistent. We might go 11-1; but somewhere along the way we would have an Oklahoma game

It's moved to -1000 SMU. They're getting in and really we have no one to blame but ourselves for losing to Oklahoma.

I think B1G meant both...

As in no matter the decision by the committee the players who would opt out for a Bowl game have been advised to do so already.

Edit: Sorry I misread... I think he meant what I say above but the players don't know if they are in or not.

The reactions for being selected are usually genuine so I don't think they are tipped off early.
