Now that this LSU thing is out in the open, I won't feel sorry for the future recruits(they know what they're getting into). But you have to feel sorry for guys like Black who thought he was going to be preped for the NFL like any other school.

This is an interesting article, in that it points out that Ciron Black was All-SEC and was the first LSU player to win the Jacobs Blocking Trophy (awarded annually to SEC's best offensive lineman) since Allen Faneca, the future NFL Hall of Famer.

The article points out that NFL scout Chris Landry gave Black a "50-50" chance of even being drafted, and the reason he gave was that Black's foot-speed was too slow to play left tackle in the NFL.

We have that issue at right offensive tackle right now. The issue is that you can just about be all-world, but if you can't block that defensive end coming around you on a pass play, you better be making alternative plans.

Well I suppose that the fundamentals are not as important to our Bayou rivals. It seems there is a lot on the LSU players minds these days rather than football. Let's hope they continue to underachieve.:biggrin2:

IMO he was not left tackle material but possibly guard at the next level.

Also if they want to go to LSwho then let them, I don't want anybody who doesn't want and love to play for Bama. One other thing I think they will always produce good D-Lineman.:BigA:
