Saban is in Kirby's head. Georgia wins it all last year if not for Alabama.
That’s a dilemma at your house , Georgia wins the national title and BAMA hears about the 3peat and Kirby’s greatness. Bama wins and Buckeyes hear about Harbaugh and Michigan. This is a Bama board so I’m happy with how it played out Considering the alternative.

Didn't they all pick FSU yesterday also? Their playoff brackets means nothing.
Still though, the way it's set up, there will be very good teams left out, and meh or worse teams included. And we'll hear whining, wailing, and gnashing of teeth from Washington state to Florida. If folks thought there were complaints about the playoff system before, just wait and see come December.

I agree. There will always be someone whining. I for one feel as though the BCS got it right every single year.

All I was saying is that they picked FSU over GA Tech to win the game and got it wrong. So why should I think their playoff predictions could possibly be correct.
Because the new playoff format is stupid. Their playoff prediction was not affected at all by the game yesterday. Could FSU implode? Sure, but I think they are still the favorite to win their pathetic conference.

I can guarantee there will be no "very good teams left out". There will, however, be a lot of teams that have no business even being in the playoffs.

It’s not the top 4. It’s the 4 highest ranked conference champions , they all get a bye and the top 4 seeds, regardless of record. Utah has a good chance to win the BIG12 and I guess the prediction is for Clemson to reclaim the ACC.
Thanks for the explanation. That sucks even more. Why not give the byes to the 4 highest rated teams, regardless of conference. That would make more sense than giving a spot to the ACC champ. I'm not really up on all of these rules yet, but does a conference champion have to be ranked at a certain level to get a top 4 seed. For example, what if Clemson wins the ACC, but has 3 losses and are ranked 14 or 15. Do they still get a top 4 seed and a bye?

Because they are still operating under the assumption that the conferences are remotely equal. I would wager there are 4-5 teams in the SEC that are better than the eventual Big12 and ACC champions from this year.

There's going to be a travesty of justice when it comes to a team getting in thru being a conference championship that doesn't belong when a SEC or B1G team that right on the edge of the 12 team that gets left out.

It'll take a few cycles but it'll happen and some change will come.

But get ready for it. CNS said there will be a lot of controversy when a 13th or 14th seeded team doesn't get in. I'm assuming he's talking about this kind of situation.

Yep, it'll be so much fun watching Liberty or Boise State in the playoff. I can't wait. Or watching whomstever wins the Big 12 jumping from wherever they are ranked into the top 4.....because conference champion.
