I know most people are disgusted at the NIL, but the transfer portal is what's doing the real damage. The transfer portal is so pervasive that it is negatively impacting HS kids to get scholarships. Deion alluded to it last year that he's not looking at as many HS recruits because he can go in the portal and get a kid who's already college football ready and experienced. And it's not just football that the portal is impacting. HS baseball players are finding it harder and harder to get looked at by colleges because they can now fill spots with transfers. I imagine softball and other "non-football" sports are experiencing the same thing.
