I was listening to him on Mc and Cube's show on Jox and said he was asked via a letter from Gene Hallman to not play in the Pro-Am citing his age. You could really tell that it hurt his feelings. I know he's an avid golfer and really competitive to say the least. I'm sure he would bow out if he weren't able to play. He said Hallman stated "It was his due to his age." That's completely pathetic and I'll never attend that event again.

I don’t think GeneHallman is stupid, so the bad outweighs the good if Sanderson were to play is the most likely scenario.

Maybe he’s too slow , or something else that would gum up the works at that event.

Truth be told, the Pro-Am is designed to bring in spectators to the event and at this point, it may simply be that Wimp isn't as popular as a draw any longer. I'm pretty sure event organizers wouldn't come out and say that exactly... but they have a right to make that choice for the tourney's welfare.

This came out right after his wife died. Pretty crappy move that could have been handled a lot better. If he can't keep up with the pace of play, skill level (and how high the skill level for a pro-am??) then let him be an honorary starter like the Masters has.

Memaw may not be able to handle cooking all of Thanksgiving dinner anymore, but you don't completely throw her out of the kitchen.
