He is done. When your predecessor has more wins in 3 years than you have in 4 then there is no way you are coming back. Here's a list. Scott Frost is currently #1. Though, I think he gets another year, at least.
Coached like a native son on a lifetime contract vs. tOSU, weasel-FG attempting (and missing) at every turn trying to keep it close. Probably bought himself another year by contemporary Bugeaters’ measure—He is done. When your predecessor has more wins in 3 years than you have in 4 then there is no way you are coming back.
I'd say right now its boiling. At the least I think he is forced to make major staff changes after the season is over and will have to win at least 9 games next year to survive. How hot is Mullen’s seat? 2-8 in last 10 power 5 matchups

Yeah, because when I look at Mullen I see.....Cousin Eddie as a football coach........I mean, he'd probably fit right in on the Atlanta Falcons but.......Various talking heads said that Mullen expected an offer from the Pro's, and so he may have decided to not spend a lot of time recruiting. But I think he has sucked so hard at Florida that he might have worked himself out of a job and also out of his next job.

They were a power in FCS, winning a championship in 1998. They were a football only member of the MAC when they joined FBS. The MAC asked them to join full time but they declined so that left them out in the cold. One of the many teams that don't belong in Division I football. Not even the MAC wanted them.
