Auburn fans celebrating Freeze firing, but they should be aware sometimes getting what you want isn't always the best thing. Granted Freeze was a terrible hire despite what they thought about his offensive so- called acumen. Most of us knew it was bad fit, but it was the most auburn thing to do! Trusting their people to hire someone to right the ship is not easy as they believe. Gus, Harsin and now Freeze have all been failures. Gus was their most successful HC they had since Dye and they let him go because going 8-4 most seasons wasn't good enough for their " standards ". They're a delusional bunch who have this false sense that they're better than what their school history says. History has not been kind to auburn and we all know about not learning from it. They better hope a decent coach would want to be in that toxic environment. Money will sway many to come, but will it be who they want? The SEC is more competitive and cutthroat than its ever been, auburn has an uphill battle if they want to rise to the top .

The guy at Tulane got lit up by UTSA by 22 last night. This leads me to believe he’s already talking to a few people.

Jon sumrall and the usf guy Alex golsh(sp?) would be hr hires that would make me super nervous but luckily I think the auburn power brokers are so desperate they will only settle for a power 5 name even if it’s a worse coach.

Separate note I wonder how all this buyout money is gonna affect their nil purse? Thats ALOT of money

The other thing is Sumrall is Kentucky grad. Yeah he is from Huntsville and coached at Troy which gives him connections to this state. However, what will Kentucky do with Mark Stoops? You have got to figure Sumrall is high on their list if they show Stoops the door.

I seriously doubt Sumerall is coming to Auburn. When Kiffin tells both Florida and LSU “no thanks” then we are going to see a serious fight over the guy. I seriously doubt he is a realistic choice for Auburn.

Those two would make absolute sense. Therefore, they need to be eliminated from the list.
