If another team took CKD that OTHER team would owe Bama the buyout wouldnt they? I mean Bama owes NOTHING to CKD if he decided to leave on his own. Maybe I'm misunderstanding that.

A buyout is meant to keep the coach from leaving, so yes CKD would be responsible for that. Common sense dictates that the new school would compensate for that...

The only ones throwing this out there are writers and bloggers looking for clicks!

IF we lose to OU again there will be a lot of people here who want him to leave…heck, there are a fair number who seem to already want him to leave.

I'd love to hear their plan for how they will make the program better in this era and with our schedules.

The FSU loss was bad. But after that we've lost to a team that like it or not is 10-2 and ranked in the top ten and split two games with Georgia who has good odds to win the title.

Our problems can be fixed and DeBoer seems to be cognizant and willing to do the work.

Switching coaches now with a depleted field out there would result in a sideways move at best and likely destroy our roster and team unity.

We need unity in the fan base for two more years.

Whomever he would go to would pay that I am sure...not an issue with the money being thrown around. Personally I believe he will stay for at least 3 years and see what he can do. Like the song says, "if you can do it here you can do it anywhere..."

I can’t think of a single coach…not one.

That doesn’t mean I think DeBoer is some incredible coach (I’m still in the evaluation stage in that respect) but it will be a couple more years before I can form a complete opinion on him.

Evaluation gets tougher with the changing of eras in college football. People trying to gauge him like Saban or even Day is unfair.

Could be Coach is looking to cash in at the capstone by letting the media narrative swirl.

For sure. Sexton has told him to let this swirl. Worst case scenario, nothing changes. Best case he gets a raise from Bama or Michigan. No sense in wasting the moment.

And as said above, you start talking about this noise at press conferences—even denying it—and there will be no other discussion but this.
