Coaching carousel 2025-26

Yes and no. We are in playoffs yes. But instead of top 2 or 4, we have been barely out or barely in. And beating Auburn can’t be a top 10 metric we use. Because I’ll lose to Auburn every year if it means we are guaranteed of making the playoff. It’s not the 80s or 90s anymore. We aren’t recruiting just the state for the bulk of our team. So other than pride, who cares what Auburn does? Thats vintage thinking.

I’m disappointed that we have replaced performance with this emotional “love” thing we have going. Field discipline is our biggest issue. Death by 1000 cuts makes all of our games close. And when we have big errors, it’s too hard to overcome. Because we aren’t seeing the same execution we had grown accustomed to

As for the Curry vibes… don’t agree but to each their own. DeBoer seems far more of a big time coach than just a guy given the job for beating Alabama. But then again Curry did lay the groundwork on 2 national championships (90 and 92). So I guess we could do worse. Atleast we aren’t getting Shula and Dubose vibes I suppose

FTR the Auburn comment was a joke. But the response does illustrate the difference between those who live here and those who don’t. After next year LSU won’t matter for sometime for Alabama fans because we won’t play them on a consistent basis, but Auburn will always matter to fans here. Losing to Auburn and Tennessee from time to time is understandable, but getting streaks against you isn’t. No amount of playoff glory or national championships will ever indefinitely take the importance of those games away.

From what learned this whole rumor got started because there was a time a few years ago that DeBoer supposedly told someone that Michigan would be his dream job. This was at a time though that Saban was still coaching Alabama. Also there was a wide belief that had Harbaugh left Michigan a little sooner that DeBoer would have left Washington for Michigan. All the talking heads now are going on the assumption that Michigan is still DeBoer's dream job. Having gotten the job at Alabama however could have changed all that because now going to Michigan isn't a promotion, it's just a lateral move.

Im not sure why Whittingham wasn't contacted earlier. He's an old school, tough, program builder that would fit great at either school.
He's a little old. Not too old to be considered but he is 66. I'm sure that plays a factor in these things. But he's a solid coach. Curious what he might do there.

Michigan fans are basically Texas fans who migrated north.
I honestly think they're worse

Brando solely exists to troll bama fans at this point. It’s like he blames us for his career tanking
