Congrats to Javy

Been one of my favorite players all throughout his career. Congrats and hopefully he breaks the NCAA record against Florida.
 
Grats to Javy!!! He is a beast and will be missed. His returns today were the difference in the game IMHO; we had the short field on most of our possessions until the very end and it was either his returns or AU kicking out of bounds.

I agree that he was the difference. Their fears of kicking to him early caused them to kick out of bounds. Guess now they wish they had stuck with that strategy!! He was AWESOME!!
 
I think a lot of people tend to get caught up in recognizing Arenas as a great kick return which is very, very true. Still, Arenas is an outstanding CB. I don't know that I've seen a better blitzing corner in college football.

We are really going to miss Arenas next year. He's not very big, but he can flat lay the wood when he hits an opposing player. He's the definition of a "football player." He's outstanding!
 
I've got to say... I love me some Javy. :-)

I think the reason is because I wasn't excited when we recruited him... Thought he was to small and too slow, and he has completely made me look like an idiot.

He doesn't have the greatest top end speed, and he's still a bit small, but if I ranked him out of college now, he'd be a 5 star for sure.

He's gutsy and positive and has turned into a great corner. No need to even mention his prowess as a returner.

What a great attitude as well.

I can't believe he thought about giving up football a few years ago. I'm very happy for him, and I'd argue that he was player of the game.

His return got us a FG and he affected Auburn's punting and kicking all night as they were always kicking it out of bounds.

His punt return today was crazy good. I can't tell you how many times I've gone from thinking 'What the heck are you doing!?' when he catches a ball under pretty heavy pressure to 'Oh, right. Sorry, I forgot you defy logic.' after he makes a couple of ridiculous moves and sprints on down the field.

You can say that again...he is the best blitzing corner I have ever seen at this level. I cannot remember him missing more than one tackle on a blitz all year...but then my memory is not what it used to be! ;)
 
He's the only return man who makes me excited over a 10 yd punt return. His effect on the game cannot be overstated. Every single game he makes at least one big special teams play and one big defensive play. Best blitzing corner in the country, hands down!
 
One of my all-time favorites because he plays with reckless abandon. He always brings his A game. We will truly miss him next year.
