Before somebody says "The Vandy Whistlers are just a baseball thing" they do it at all events Vandy sports. Its just far more noticeable at Vandy baseball games.

I've sat through both, and can honestly say I can get used to enduring cowbells after a quarter, but these jerks doing this crap the whole game I can't. They have gotten so bad that ESPN tried to get Omaha to ban them from the CWS.

For those that dont understand what the Vandy Whistlers are. They are two guys that whistle the whole game and its loud, high pitched, and coordinated. It is so bad many are forced to mute their tv.

Both are obnoxious traditions, but the Whistlers through 9 innings is far worse imo

One cowbell sounds like any other. So a bunch together wouldn’t be that bad. But pitches and volumes of whistling vary, so that would bother me more.

I say this as one who has never been to a Vandy baseball game or a game at MSU. I did attend the 2006 game in Tuscaloosa. That was the one that sealed Shula’s fate.

I saw this guy referenced during the CWS thread, but I'd never seen it until I watched the clip. That's bad. You know it HAS to be affecting the viewing experience of countless people who have to endure that for hours. Why on earth is that tolerated? I think someone said the guy was an attorney who says he can't be forced to stop it [?]

I sat near him (the one that actually coordinates the chant) at Hoover and it is ear piercing and he doesn’t let up. He is a lawyer and has sued people and cities who have told him to stop. He is a real jerk and he knows it.

There aren't enough Vandy to fans to matter
This.

I mean, I've zero interest in attending any baseball game, so there's no chance I'll have to deal with this. In a football stadium, even at Vandy, their fans will be outnumbered 5:1(or more) by Bama fans, so again, i don't have to deal with it.

Those cowbells may sound loud on TV but they are far worse in person. I went to a game once when they were "illegal". They were handing them out at the gate to tate fans that didn't bring their own. They are very loud and I wanted to beat all of them to death with their damn cowbells.

Never heard the whistlers until recently.

I hate the fact that the one year where the opposing fanbase could be neutralized by reduced capacity seating due to covid happened to fall on a year where we had Both clanga and the barn at home.

They are both bad in their respective ways. For the SEC office to actually condone one of them is disappointing. As I've said before, try to take an artificial noisemaker into any other SEC stadium/arena. Still, there are two things even worse than these: rocky top, and just about anything auburn does. 😉

I live in MS and have been to enough Bama games in starkesville to detest those cowbells. Nothing worse than sitting in front of a drunk cowbell fan ringing one in your ear.
