Very good point. Given the profile of the DeMatha program, this is not the first recruiting rodeo for the head coach. He wants all schools treated fairly because that means they may all come back -- which is a feather in the school's cap and which means more opportunities for future players.I've read a number of articles posted this morning and only saw a coach being a coach.
Dematha has produced a lot of D1 talent, and I'm sure the coach is just trying to help CK through a situation he has been through many previous times with other players, though obviously never raised to this level of drama. I'm sure he's heard every pitch a school could throw at a recruit and can help CK sift through it - hence his explanation to CK about why he wouldn't be competing with Arie.
Hmmm, unless tidesports quoted his dad incorrectly Iowa is back in it. Maybe they did. ?????? I don't have a rivals account to see if that's the case.Via Shane Youngblood.http://bit.ly/hPiz1F
Someone asked him that, and his response was along the lines of "His father also didn't know he was announcing for AU yesterday."Hmmm, unless tidesports quoted his dad incorrectly Iowa is back in it. Maybe they did. ?????? I don't have a rivals account to see if that's the case.
So Rivals guy knows more than dad? Interesting. Is he going to try to steer him to au as well? Seems like everyone else is.Someone asked him that, and his response was along the lines of "His father also didn't know he was announcing for AU yesterday."
He was right last week (even before the visit). I hope he's right again!Luginbill - "If I had to give a gut reaction- an inclination, I think he (Kouandjio) ends up at Alabama"

Neither is true. I took what he said as things are changing and Daddy K might not be kept up to date. Shane Youngblood covers UA, so I don't see him trying to steer Cyrus to UA.So Rivals guy knows more than dad? Interesting. Is he going to try to steer him to au as well? Seems like everyone else is.
Unbelievable...A few people I know, that I respec and usually have their ducks properly rowed, feel there is some merit to this story.
I wondered myself how Nick Fairly, the potential #1 overall pick in the draft, ended up with Brian Overstreet as his agent.
Overstreet works out of Maryland.
He also has some sort of relationship with Cyrus, and perhaps the HC at De Matha as well.
Seems there are some who believe that Overstreet told AU coaches that if they sent him St Nick Fairly as a client, he could deliver them Cyrus. Make no mistake, the aubs wanted Cyrus to visit, and alone, to keep the strong family influence out of the loop.
This Head Coach McGregor seems a little too invested in this saga as well, and very anxious for Cyrus to speak and conference with aub coaches - who will lay the guilt trip on him.
BTW - Coach McGregor is involved with something called "Coach Files", which is the same type "Mentoring and PR" firm as such sleaze bags as Walt Willaims and Brian Butler oversee. For the purpose of helping young people, of course :rolleye2:
Here it is and it doesn't sound good to me. Cyrus needs to go home and get with his family. It's one thing if they guide and steer him. It's quite another if his coach does. Now it appears Cyrus hasn't even talked to Alabama coaches. Wonder why Saban's name is nowhere to be found in all these reports?I still have not mastered this post a link thing, but you can google "Cyrus Inching Closer" on Yahoo!Sports Canada to get to that latest article by Mike Farrell.
Oh, I know Shane covers Alabama. I was thinking rivals guy that wrote the article was Farrell. He was the one I was speaking of.Neither is true. My bad.:blush:Neither is true. I took what he said as things are changing and Daddy K might not be kept up to date. Shane Youngblood covers UA, so I don't see him trying to steer Cyrus to UA.
Al22, the article you are talking about is the one I linked in my Youngblood tweet.
It is definitely clear that Coach McGregor ISN'T talking to or keeping CK's dad in the loop. I find this very problematic. Here it is and it doesn't sound good to me. The comments about Arie calling him and holding sway make no sense. That is not what was said before Wednesday.
