I was reading the
ESPN article on Clemson and Dabo, and especially his take on the transfer portal. One of Dabo's quotes was
"We've done it in a unique way," Swinney said. "Now people want me to go do it some other way. They've lost their freakin' mind. I'm not doing it another way."
I couldn't help but think how quickly college football shifts, and if coaches don't adapt, the program quickly slips away. One of the big reasons Saban dominated for so long was his ability to adapt to the changing game. Coach Bryant faced a similar challenge and adapted. Any coach that is not willing to adapt to the changing game and rules behind it, will rather quickly fade away. I think Dabo has become the epitome of this.
