It seems LSU may have to postpone/cancel their Sept. 6 game vs. Troy.

http://www.nbc33tv.com/sports/27775474.html

In the aftermath of Hurricane Gustav, there is damage across Baton Rouge and power is out to most of the city, including the LSU campus. Plus, there is damage inside Tiger Stadium. Alleva says windows to luxury boxes and the press box were blown out, resulting in water damage, and seating areas were damaged by falling objects. Plus, there is some damage to the northside scoreboard.
I haven't been able to find any pictures.

Best decision made. There's just too much "clean up" and getting things back in order to have this game played in Louisiana. It impacted the entire state and cities outside the state that were housing the evacuees.

Re: Damage to Tiger Stadium

I wish all those affected by the hurricane all the best.

Statement From LSU AD Joe Alleva Regarding Postponement of LSU-Troy Football Game
Due to the terrible storm, probably the worst in Baton Rouge history, we have been forced to reschedule the game with Troy to November 15. There were a lot of factors in that decision. First is safety. Tiger Stadium suffered a lot of damage. Windows were blown out. We have no power. We don’t know when power will be back on in the stadium. We have to check on the lighting and the scoreboard. It was a university decision and was made early this morning.”

Even though LSU is one of our foes, they are still part of the SEC Family and we sincerely wish for them a safe return to their stadium and better days.....

Good luck Bengal Tigers!:BigA:

I hope everyone down there is safe, and wish them the best, and a timely return to Tiger Stadium.

But this kinda sucks. I was looking forward to going to this game. I guess I'll just wait till November. But that means I get to go to a Bama game instead!

I'll add my best wishes to those posted above. All the members of the LSU team and staff, and their respective families, are in our thoughts and prayers. Here's wishing them a quick and safe return to their homes and to Tiger Stadium.

"SEC family?" Wouldn't that be the "family" that was so gleefully planting the knife in Alabama's back a few years ago?
Pardon me if I fail to shed any tears over the dear SEC.

But because LSU was one of the least involved in trying to kill Alabama off the field, I will wish them a speedy recovery.

But the SEC? A pox upon them.
