BREAKING Dan Enos fired at Arkansas

Somebody remind me, please. Enos left here under squirrelly circumstances. What about his departure was not quite right?
‘Where’s Dan? ‘
.
Where the … is Dan?!?”

Several of the staffers knew the answer to their boss’ question. Word had already spread that the 50-year-old Enos was headed to Miami to become offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach under Manny Diaz. No one in the room wanted to be the one to break that news to Saban, even though Miami was primed to announce it in a couple hours.

One staffer scrambled to check if Enos was in his office. It was empty, save for a pencil on the desk. Maybe he’d already moved into [current Maryland head coach and former Alabama offensive coordinator Mike] Locksley’s old office, but that one was empty too.

I’ve heard a couple of different versions of the story, but the common thread is that Saban found out he was leaving when he convened the regular Monday morning meeting and asked, “Where’s Dan?”

That kind of petty career move is really short-sighted. Think a recommendation from Saban might come in handy right about now? Good luck with that, Mr. Enos.

Some hog fans think this is too little too late to save Sam’s job. Are we set at Oline coach ? Or would we be interested in Sam. At least as an analyst.
I don’t know about the spot, but I’d hope we could find a place for Sam Pittman in the Nick Saban Football Coaches’ Rehabilitation Institute.

I also kind of wonder about Mel Tucker possibly coming back in a non-public facing role. But he might be radioactive for a year or two, so maybe not.
