Davin Palmer?

I read on another board that next year, he's going to a prep school to get his academic house in order so he can play Division I football the following year. They did mention a couple of interesting factoids about him though. He apparently is only 5'5", looks and runs a lot like his dad with the juking and jiving moves, he had 142 yards rushing BUT also had four fumbles (recovered two of them himself) last night vs. Briarwood. Fumbling is one thing dad David seldom did. Gotta hold on to that ball, Davin!!!!

I was just on his myspace....We should be aggressive with kids who WANT to play for our school...

Hope he gets his grades in line and we see him in Crimson someday soon...

Davin Palmer has been tearing it up this year, he's lead his team to the Region title in a region that had 2 of the best 5A teams in the state, he has not been slowed too much against either. If anyone has seen video clips of him, he will certainly remind you of his father, he has the speed, moves and awareness to be as good as his father. I hope our coaches lock him up early, he's gonna be a good one. :BigA:

Am I getting this old? It seems like yesterday everyone was excited about this true freshman named David Palmer who was giving them fits in fall practice.

You're not getting old...You are already old..;)

I too remember reading of his exploits while he was attending Jackson-Olin HS here in B'Ham.

His son Davin, is having nothing short of a remarkable season. Someone mentioned his game against Briarwood in a 5A showdown last week (won by Davin's Chelsea team 14-7) that he had several fumbles. Well he also had 4 interceptions from his CB position! He is so much like his Dad! I don't know if he also kicks extra points and field goals though..like David did back in his HS days.

I hate bringing up the "wishbone" but I swear David Palmer would have been maybe the greatest player ever to QB it had it still been around! IMHO:BigA:

Seems to me at 5-5, he'd have to be a PR/KR/WR. Too short to play much else. He sounds like quite a player and if he's as good or nearly as good as his dad, yes, I'd sign him. David was one of my all time favorite players.

I fear he'll end up being a Brandon Brooks clone. Don't get me wrong...Lil' B is a great person and was a definite leader on our team...but you have to question if Price was thinking (or sober) when he made the offer. Lil' B simply wasn't Div. 1 material mainly because of his size.

Price ? :conf3:

Fran honored BB's early pledge to Dumbose - Fall 2000 .

RTR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:BigA:

David Palmer was only 5'7 with inch tall shoes on. This guy is unbelieveable. We NEED to get him. You don't have to be tall to play flanker or return punts and kickoffs. Ask Trendon Holliday of LSU

How long has it been since we had a scat back that could consistently beat SEC speed backers to the corner? He would be a real threat with the WR reverse.
Sometimes the "little ones" are hard to see and quick as a cat.
