Colorado is a 3 td underdog against Oregon Saturday and is likely to get blown out by both Oregon and USC coming up after(and likely some more teams), but even if that happens the improvement made by Sanders to that program is pretty impressive.
I mean nobody expects them to win this saturday so when they don't I don't believe it will
diminish what Sanders is doing there.
Give Sanders a few years to have a couple of his classes and develop the players, and I wouldn't be surprised if at that point they are actually a powerhouse program.
But all the people crowing about how Oregon and USC are going to humiliate Sanders don't get it- he's playing with house money those games(this year).......

Pride goeth before a fall..............and he will fall hard very soon. Then I hope the media hounds him relentlessly for failing
it's impossible for him to fall 'very soon' in his case(at least just limited to on field performance)- he took over a program that went 1-11 and was a laughingstock. I'm not a huge fan of Sanders but he, like anyone, deserves to get some time before taking over a program in that situation before he is fully evaluated.

Based on what we have seen so far though, when he actually gets the guys in there he wants(assuming he can?), they may be a really good team in a few years.

And if they win both games, his swagger and attractiveness to young players will only grow.

They aren't too shabby right now.

What he has done so far has been nothing short of remarkable considering how horrendous the Buffs have been recently.

The loss of Travis Hunter is huge.

the chance of them winning one of those games is small. The chance of them winning both of those games is literally such that if one thinks there is a non-trivial chance of it happening, they could take 100 dollars and put both on a moneyline parlay and it would literally pay out enough to buy a new house I believe(and yes I know the USC moneyline would go down some if they won the oregon game).....

There is almost no way they win both those games. I'll be shocked if they win one.

If they win both games a bigger school should hire him immediately.

I like Prime. I admit it.I do. I also think what he's done in changing the culture at CU is pretty amazing. Wholesale swapping of players and leveling up on expectations at a place that has been indifferent is pretty amazing.

He's trying to attract a particular type of athlete to CU who has the swagger and confidence he has & wants his players to have. He will be uber successful - relative to what CU has achieved in last 25 years.

HOWEVER, he will not win 7 NCs. He will not got 196-28 in his first 224 games at Colorado. His team plays & will play in a putz conference. He coaches at a school & state that doesn't really truly care about football.

He's 3-0 at Colorado (and barely so)

Slow your roll Prime but I understand why you do it.
He may not even coach 28 games @ CU, much less go 196-28. He may move on to greener pastures at the end of this season, probably after the next, as long as he maintains what he's got going in Boulder.

Blah, blah, what is the obsession with hating Prime? To be fair, CFB is filled with coaches that everyone considers a jerk, so to me it seems as if the media and the talking heads hate the fact that he’s exceeding expectations and he didn’t go through the “traditional” way of rising through the coaching ranks. Ain’t the first time somebody had found success in an unconventional way, and won’t be the last. Stop being sour in the face, CFB is changing and he looks to be the face of it.
always liked Deion. probably the best DB ever in the NFL. However, like many have said, it takes more than 3 games. Let him at least win his conf. before he is called the best ever.

Most don’t pay any attention to statements that are mundane. Say something outrageous and every wire service, talking head, and commentator will have a hot take on it.

Sanders understands this implicitly. Building the buzz leads to building the program is his opinion. It doesn’t matter if he believes it or not. He doesn’t care. All he cares is that people are talking about him and, therefore, the program.

He won’t be in Colorado three years. Which is why he can say whatever he wants, and act however, he wants, because this is just a stepping stone to something else.

So referring to himself in the third person while saying, he’s already surpassed the goat somehow makes this better?

I don’t think he’s a coach at all. I think he’s a talent agent disguised as a coach.
He clearly respects Saban and what he has done. I appreciate that. That's the clip I posted. "I'm a student looking up at this wonderful teacher"

He's never going to say he's not the best. I don't have an issue with that mindset at all.

His success so far would point to him being a coach.

what though?

He's already said he doesn't think he is a good fit for the nfl. And while Colorado is certainly not Alabama/OhioState/Georgia/Michigan, they are a large state university flagship program that has had big success before(during my lifetime and most others here). I think Deion can recruit and win big at Colorado if he is patient and plays it right, and I think he knows that.

I can't say for sure that he won't shortly leave Boulder and take a top 15 college job, but it's not an unreasonable that he wouldn't either.

I think he wants a big job in the south(obviously could be wrong). And I think he would be a hell of a recruiter at a big southern school.

One should never forget that Prime Time is a character played by Deion Sanders.

The whole question of "Do I like Prime Time?"-especially when Prime Time is not differentiated from Deion-is part of the intended distraction. The more productive question is "What function does/has playing Prime Time served Deion?"
