I mean... Sanders was committed to Florida Atlantic before Dad pulled him to Jackson State and then to Colorado. I think Dad did everything he could to make sure his son had lots of opportunities to toss the ball around, but his talent level isn't anywhere near Dad.

I think Klatt… the biggest Colorado homer, probably surmised the Sanders issue best by saying “it was mostly because it was a weak quarterback draft, with very few teams desperate for a quarterback, and everyone saw Sanders as a backup”. He basically said while the interviews went bad and daddy sanders is a potential issue, most organizations would take the risk on a controversial player if he had the potential to start from day 1.

Really all this came down to who was going to get Jaxson Dart. I think there were really only two prizes in terms of quarterbacks in the draft and if the Giants didn’t trade up to get Dart then there would have been some crazy trades by the few teams in desperate need of a quarterback to get him and it might have forced someone to take a reach on Sanders and Milroe.

I also think Aaron Rodgers weighed heavily on the Steelers draft decisions and might have limited the number of desperate for quarterback teams.

Sanders (the kid) had too many things working against him to get drafted any higher than what he did. He came across as arrogant and entitled, while his dad made it clear in the media that he would dictate who he would go to and not go to in the draft. Then on top of that, he just didn't have NFL starting QB traits, and like many analysts (former players as well) have said. If the NFL DOESN'T see you as a starting QB, they're not picking you in the first to mid rounds, they're just not. So taking all of that into consideration, it shouldn't have been a shock to anyone that he got drafted in the 5th round. Now, he has the opportunity to prove everyone wrong and earn his reputation. But as a 5th round pick, he's not going to get the length of time to prove himself like someone picked earlier in the draft. If he doesn't come in and show promise soon, he'll be cut.

Dulac, one of the Steelers most trusted journalists, kept on challenging everyone who was grading Sanders and Milroe as 1st rounders to where they were getting their information. He basically called this one of the weakest drafts for quarterbacks that he had ever seen with only one true 1st rounder amongst them.

Why do people keep saying Ewers went undrafted
Ahhh, you forgot one. The one with the towel on the massage table over in the corner. They will have 5 QBs on roster total. He may be on the injured list, but they will have to do something with him.
I left him off on purpose. He's out for the season and is not part of the equation.
