As we all know, the Texans got an outstanding football player. Now that camp is in full swing, the coaches, players and reporters are seeing just what they got with their 2nd round pick. I have many favorites following Alabama Football for the past forty some odd years, but DeMeco is right at the top of the list.

As intelligent and quick as Ryans is, he is also versatile. With the injury bug hitting the defense this year, he has been given the opportunity to play multiple positions and has excelled at all of them. This boasts well for the defense as it has underachieved for the past four years. Could we be looking at another Lofa Tatupu? I believe so, and hopefully Ryans can make it happen.

With the coaching staff they have in place and the players already in the system, Houston might be turning a lot of heads in a couple of seasons. I'm anxious to see how Kubiak develops this team as it looks as if he is building it to do one thing: Stop the offensive juggernaut of the Indianapolis Colts. Once teams in the AFC South can stop Indy from scoring, the division will be wide open. I personally can't wait to see DeMeco light up Peyton Manning a couple of times each season. :biggrin2:

The Texans may outplay the Titans and Jags in the AFC South this season. I see Houston, with Mario Williams and DeMeco, having better control on the offenses of Jax, Indy, and the Titans.

Jacksonville might actually be pretty good this year, on par with how they played last year. Del Rio has quietly built them into a good team, although it's going to hinge on how Matt Jones does at wide-out. I think Houston can challenge Tennessee for 3rd in the division, and they might get 1-2 wins out of the 4 games with Indy and Jacksonville.

Croyle at KC and Harper at NO?

Yeah, that's the most likely scenario.

With DeMeco and Mario being such excellent pass rushers, I don't see why the Texans couldn't improve on their efforts against Indy, Jax, and Tenn last season. DR and MW seem to me to be the best two pure rookie defenders in the NFL. I know, AJ Hawk sticks out as an incredible linebacker and pure defender, like a sore thumb, but I think DeMeco can make a better impact at Houston than Hawk at GB. I think Houston will have a better time trying to place 3rd than GB. The lions are under new leadership, the Bears are just flat out dominant, and the Vikings are on the rise. I'm rambling...but still. I think DeMeco will make the best impact of all the Rookie LB's in the AFC, AJ Hawk for the NFC.

I wonder about Roman Harper (Mr. Rocky Stop) and how he will impact the Saints secondary. He, like DeMeco, is a very smart athlete and is very aware of the activities on the field. He may be the best rookie player on the team, next to Reggie Bush.

Then there is Brodie Croyle. The man who helped revive a proud program at Alabama. He sits at 3rd string right now, but seems to be the QB Herm Edwards wants to groom as a repalcement for Trent Green. My guess is that in about 2 years or less he will be the top QB in KC.

If you guys have NFL Network, you'll be able to catch both Demeco and Brodie in action when the Chiefs play the Texans this weekend. The game will be shown on NFLN this upcoming Sunday at 11 am EST.

Jacksonville will regress this season as their schedule is brutal. Last year they had a very easy schedule.
