I know he recieved an honorary degree later on in life, but he did actually earn a 4 year degree? Sorry for the dumb question folks.

He graduated from UA in 1936. However, back in 1931, he failed to graduate with his high school class, yet enrolled in UA anyway on a football scholarship. He was enrolled in high school during the fall of '31 while he practiced with the Tide.

Yes he had a BA degree thats why in World War 2 he enlisted in the Navy and was an officer!!

Yes, he enlisted in 1941 and served in Africa aboard the USS Uruguay. He was discharged in 1945 as a Lieutenant Commander.

During WWII, you didn't have to have a degree to go to OCS. Both my brothers were officers in the Army Air Corps and neither had a degree. My older brother had two years at Bama, and the younger one had only a HS education at enlistment. They both completed college, as so many others, after the war...

Yes. In one of my many Coach Bryant biographies he says that Mary Harmon made him return and graduate. As I read it, on one occasion he was introduced as having attended the University of Alabama. He corrected the person saying that he had graduated from there, and that he'd better not forget it.
