BTW...I hate NoDamnGood Dame. Even w/ Pete Carol at USC, ND is the Golden Child of broadcast media. As proof, I didn't hear anyone calling them the NY Yankees of D1 football when they made CCW contract extension. Yeah, their right, we probably should of only rented a coach for 1 year at $55K and paid him month by month there after.

Funny I was thinking along the same lines before I read you post but more of hypocricsy in the media. As you pointed out there was no outrage when OK made Bob Stoops the highest paid coach in college football and where's the wailing over the fact they can't even find out how much Pete Carrol or Charlie Wiess are paid.

We as fans and boosters support this program, I could care less how much the Domers pay fat boy or how much the Sooners pay Bob because I do not buy their tickets, or merchandise. So with this program gererating as much money as it does for the University then why not spend the bucks and bring someone in that will not only win games for you but generate even MORE money for the program? Simple economics from my point of view.

Notre Dame isn't held to any standards by the media. They can pay players with embezzled money, get sexual favors from boosters, etc. and there's nothing wrong with it.

Sportswriters are all about equity except in the case of the Holy Domers.

HAHA, good point. Notre Dame is no different than any other college football program. Yet they act holier than thou and shroud themselves in the Catholic Church. As a Catholic I find that disgusting. But to be fair I must say they have some terrific fans, very cool people.
