Great career at Alabama and a great career with the Patriots. They don't make them like Dont'a anymore. I wish his time at Alabama hadn't included the injuries but he turned out just fine. Roll Tide Dont'a.

He brought a ton of joy to us Bama fans. I don't know if he's got any desire to coach, but he's the kind of former player I'd love to see back at Bama.

I was watching a game (can't remember if it was Bama or the Pats) and his name and stats came up and I realized that I weighed as much as he did at the time...and I'm 5'7".

I immediately made an appointment for a physical and started working out with a personal trainer.

Been eating right and working out 5 days a week ever since then.

He's one of those guys that probably won't make the HOF but he'll get some consideration.

Probably doesn't have the stats but he was a monster when healthy in NE. Major part of 2 of their super bowls IIRC.

Personally, I'd rather have 3 SB rings than a HOF ring, but that's just me.

Certainly rather have both, but 3 SB rings means you had a career full of winning. There are plenty of people in the HOF who were incredible players who experienced a career full of a whole lot of losing.

One of my favorite backers in the Saban era, and going to NE and being Mr January/February was a bonus. The Marshawn Lynch stop made Malcolm Butler a hero, and the strip sack made the legend of Tom Brady grow even bigger. Good luck Boomtower!

I think he wants to just be a father, I think he and Mrs Boomtower just bought a house near Navarre Beach, Florida

Donta had a great pro career, but I still think he lost a little after the cheap shot block at the knees against Arkansas. Prior to that knee injury guy had some great wheels to be as big as he was.
