What is the word on the juniors drafted? Does anyone have a feel on whether or not any of the drafted juniors will return?

Just my guess - all of them will go pro. It'll be an interesting fall. Lots of positions will be up for grabs. There will probably be at least a couple still up for grabs heading into the spring.

Saw where a current pitcher's mom posted on facebook that she was pretty sure all juniors were going to sign and that no one like the new pitching coach.......sour grapes anyone? I had a reply that that was usually the case when a new coach came that didn't recruit players. He changes things and some (in her words all) don't like him because of it. I replied he needed time that he (Bunn) would be ok and really help us out in the long run.

And no, don't pm me asking who it was, I won't tell.

I do know that one freshman has left the team for juco. There are rumors of two more heading for juco land. Anyone else hearing this?

If said pitcher's mom is a pitcher of someone who pitched a decent amount, I'd be worried. If it's someone who threw less than 10 innings or not at all, I won't be

Well in my opinion, this is something that happens when you have a change in leadership. Sometimes kids just aren't cut out for different coaching and playing styles.

Based on the article in today's Tuscaloosa News, it appears that the only drafted underclassman who might seriously consider a return is Wilson. Nelson and Rutledge are obviously gone. White signing with the Tigers was addition by subtraction. Does it really even matter whether Townsend signs with the Pirates? He throws fairly hard and has some promising stuff, but a 7.71 ERA and 17 walks in 16.1 innings against SEC opponents? Not exactly a crippling loss to the staff.

Tyler White signed with the Tigers as a redshirt sophomore. Saw that while looking at some transactions.

Well, no reason to be worried about this one.

I'm thinking even though Gaspard and Norris recruited most of these guys it appears that there will be a purging process. Reminds me of Saban's first couple of years and even now to an extent.

This. It takes a little bit to, I guess purge, the former way of doing things. From everything I've gathered, Wells was pretty "soft" on the pitchers. Here comes Bunn in who makes them work their a** off in the offseason, and some guys don't want to "deal" with that again. If you're not on-board 100%, then I don't want you on the team. No exceptions, otherwise you'll just end up being a problem.

Now, I have no idea if that's true, but it seems to be the way it works with new staffs.

Not me. You got any idea of who they are?

uabaseballdad mentioned that Danny Collins is gone, so I'm assuming that's one, but I have no clue as to the other two.

Today I confirmed that one of the pitchers from columbus,ga will be attending juco next year. No idea on the other possible transfers but the individual was dead on regarding this player. As for the mom dogging the coaches just look at what UA staff accomplished this year. One victory from the big show. RTR

My guess there would be Matt Taylor, since Taylor Wolfe, with steady improvement, will be in line to pitch some big innings next year.

Hate to label freshmen disappointments, but I had much higher expectations for Matt Taylor on the mound. Hopefully if he does stick around, he can help us next year

I would assume it's Matt Taylor as well. Of the two from Columbus, if pressed, I'd have to say that I'd keep Wolfe just because of what he's done this year. I'd rather neither of them transfer, but if it doesn't work out, then it just doesn't work out.
