Earl Alexander, what position?

I'd give him every chance at qb, mobile quarterbacks are the way to go. Gives you so many more options offensively. That being said, I like JPW and he's not slow. But still, that kind of athleticism at QB would be scary assuming he's a reasonable passer, remember that Young wasn't a great passer at first.

The Barn was talking about using him at outside linebacker. I don't know if we have given that any thought, but, that may be a longshot possiblity for him if things don't work out at QB.

I would expect him to end up at receiver, however.

I think he was recruited as a WR with an understanding that he would receive a look at QB. If he doesn't have good hands look to see him at LB. He is too good an athlete not to play somewhere.

I'm willing to bet they even told him the same things they told Jimmy Johns also.......And I believe Earl will be like him in saying he doesnt care what position he just wants to be on the field. As quick as he is he probably wouldnt make a bad LB(I dont know his tackling skills though) but I doubt very seriously he makes any run at QB(but I'm just some broke down dude that follows AL. h.s. football)

Bottom line, this kid has tons of potential....Glad we have him.

If he can catch the ball he needs to be at WR. We desperately need playmakers at the WR position. We cannot continue to rely on our defense to make up for an inept offense.

I'm with you. I honestly loved seeing Jimmy Johns play this year, but I think a redshirt would have been of more benefit to him. I think if QB does not work out for EA hopefuly he will redshirt and play Wr. Deep threat and Jump ball threat. We just need someone to throw a jump ball to him. I know one thing his mechanics will be the first thing to get worked on in the summer. Looks like he throws the ball kinda funny (Something about his delivery). But I think the adjustment could be made. Athletes are worth their weight in gold in college fb nowadays and i'm sure glad he's with us.

Wide-out is where the #'s are thin. I think 7 with 2 coming in. If you don't make the 3-deep depth chart you choose quickly you're going to get a look at WR MLB RETURN-MAN or PUNTER. Or all of the above.

Well as promised he will start out at QB and if he beats out Greg McElroy he will most likely stay at QB. If not I look for him to be a very good WR in time.

... i think Alexander might be a diamond in the rough - and not too rough at that

Believe he either ends up at WR or OLB... while most don't believe he'll end up there right now, it makes a lot of sense IF our WR's come around in the spring. Provided that Brown and Caddell (especially) steps it up, Stover comes in and is ready to break the rotation, and any other guy (such as Oakley or Knight) is able to contribute decently, it will be hard for either McCoy or Alexander to get any immediate playing time. With the numbers at OLB and the potential to get a shot at immediate playing time, makes you wonder if OLB will be a possibility. BTW, didn't even factor TP in on the receiver talk. FWIW, I think we will see a brand new player in Matt Caddell this year... also, I believe we see KB get right also. If not, they will digress down the depth chart.

EarL Alexander, what position

I have seen Earl play. Good athlete. Not impressed with passing skills but good wheels. He will end up at WR.
