I agree. He's a running threat. He's more containable than Murray because he doesn't have that sudden burst we saw last night. Still, if we lose contain then he can go running with the best of them. Good rush discipline will be crucial.

At the very least being forced to defend Murray the week before can only have helped.

It's going to be a booger. I personally like Bama's D line in that matchup. I think OKs o-line was good but overvalued due to facing scarecrows all season.

IF ifs and buts were candy and nuts, we would all have a Merry Christmas..
You asked who would beat you.

I answered the question.

Clemson much improved since September when the team was switching QBs and Mund played out of his mind hitting players while going down and several tipped passes that were completed (not excuses but one of those games).

None of that is relevant to the question you asked.

And the point SEC fans always make is this - it's not that you can't beat Texas A/M.

It's the fact your very next game was Georgia Southern followed by Ga Tech.

You didn't play Florida one week and Georgia the next like, say, LSU.

Bottom line, great teams win games. I don't think either has played the caliber they will see Monday night.
TBF, I actually think Clemson and Alabama are the two best teams, this is another 2011 except Clemson isn't in the SEC.

UGA is the Arkansas of 2011, but they don't play Clemson.

Fair post.

I'm not saying that the ACC is a better conference but Clemson isn't going to be shocked like OU was to start this game. Should be a classic Monday night.

Oh, I think it will be a good game. I think Alabama is deservedly the favorite, but since Clemson has a good D (and a great D line) then this is likely to be similar to the first two games rather than the last one.

Alabama and Clemson is practically a conference game that doesn't happen until around January at this juncture. Very little of our base offense and defense will surprise one another. This is about execution, individual performances, and well balanced tendency breaking. I think the Sugar Bowl showed that Alabama has a good read on your offense now so if it isn't being executed at a high level then it looks pretty ugly. This is why Trevor Lawrence is your QB because Bryant was good enough to get you here but not good enough to win it all.

Will they though? They scored ~30 against A&M, BC, Syracuse, Duke(35), and ND. Nobody else on their schedule had a pulse on D. Their D is legit and will be a handful but they still let a poor USCe put up 35. If we stay healthy and cleanup mental errors, I don’t see them staying within 17 points.

Give me ambiguity or give me something else.
You really believe that GA blew that game with bad play calling?
This. It was obvious to me, an unbiased as anyone observer of that game, that Bama had taken control.

Not that it wasn’t a stupid decision, because I would have simply run an offensive play if I was that desperate rather than a stupidly executed fake punt, but even with a long field, I don’t think UGA was stopping Bama.

Bama is better this year and so is Clempson...small edge to Bama because of our schedule and we were better than them last year...
Both teams have "generational" QB talent...small edge to Bama because Tua is older and more experienced
Both teams have really good Dlines...edge to Clempson because overall are better at the position and also have more depth...Big Dexter will help if he returns but the difference is minimal...
Linebackers...even
Secondary...weakest part of both teams...even
Oline...Bama is better
Wideouts...Even...both teams have plenty of freaks
Tightend...edge Bama...Irv is the best in the land and the game maybe won with how we use him!
Running Backs...even...both have a stable of running backs...Clempson's best back may be their 4th team freshman Lynn j Dixion...remember that name...he will have a breakout year next year!...even
special teams...both are average...even

Folks...i'd love nothing more than for Bama to bring home the NC AGAIN! And i am confident we will. But mark it down...Clemson is every bit as good as UGA and certainly is coached better. I'm afraid this is going to be a old fashion dog fight like 2015 and 2016. I keep up with the details of "UA" football and other than Bama, I know more about Clempson than any other team because I have two 30 year friends that work on their staff. They certainly respect us a ton...and i have never heard them say a negative syllable, but over and over they say this team is way better than 2015, 2016 and 2017...and they say over and over Lawrence is for sure better than Watson. Say they have never seen anything like it when the ball comes out of his hand. I'm just glad TLaw is a freshman instead of a junior on this team. From their perspective they will be better next year than this year.

Bless Coach Saban's heart, literally. I don't know that he slept last night and probably won't much this week. But we know this isn't the first time he has looked at Clemson game film. That's a fact.

Georgia vs Clemson would be a really good game. I would love to see it. I believe Clemson would win but I'm a fan so I'm biased lol. However when Clemson played A&M they were not complete and other than Bama A&M is the worst opponent for Clemson because nobody knows Clemson better than Jimbo. Not only that they had a really long time to prepare. A&M is a sleeping giant with Jimbo as coach. It won't take long for them to be a real contender. They are loaded with talent. The USCe game was a bad day for the D. They were unprepared and venables said it was on him.

Both teams are better. Bama is far better.

Tua is far better than TL at this time. Who knows what the future holds, but Tua is heads and shoulders right now.

Dexter will not be playing. Period. End of story. And that hurts Clemson's d-Line and also in the OL-DL matchup.

With Bama's injuries Clemson could have a slight edge at LB.

Close call on defensive backfields. I'd take our guys, though. Since Diggs isn't coming back I might concede this.

Bama is better on the o-line, but has to have a stellar game come next Monday.

Close on WR groups, but Bama's depth and usually sure hands tilt this one in my book.

TE: Bama

RB's: Again, Bama's depth and overall experience here gives a slight edge in my book.

ST: Clemson routs in this category, though the gap is not as wide as early season.

Clemson is going to be a tough, physical out. Lawrence may eventually be better than Watson, but he's not yet. He is still a talented QB and quite dangerous. I agree they are better next year most likely

Who would Clemson lose to on your schedule and OU is now an elite team even though they probably shouldn't have gotten in the playoff over UGA? BTW, Clemson is better than UGA.
i answered your question. Here is one for you: what team on Clemson’s schedule would lose by less than two touchdowns to Alabama?

Clemson's schedule was really hurt by Florida State tanking. Alabama's schedule for as boring as it may have been was the strongest of any of the playoff teams. Schedules don't beat people though. Teams do.
