I don’t remember what happened when we played them earlier in the season. I looked at the box score. Wrightsell only scored 5 so he hasn’t figured it out yet. We shot horribly and they did not, I think 60+% in the second half.

They were much more physical than us. At the time, we had no answer inside. Their grad transfer #24 pushed us around all night

"Against Charleston in the first round, Alabama registered 131 points per 100 possessions. That's eight more points per 100 possessions than the Boston Celtics, the NBA's top offense, average.

Not impressed? Bama registered 124 points per 100 possessions in Thursday's Sweet 16 win over North Carolina, a top-10 defensive team, and it did it without Latrell Wrightsell Jr. (9.0 PPG, 44% from the 3-point line). Grant Nelson (24 points) led a team with four scorers in double figures.

If it's a back-and-forth game, remember that Alabama is also 18-1 when it scores 89 points or more."

Score, score, score, and score some more! (and play at least decent D)!

I feel like ESPN is just jumping at the chance to trash us here. "if you believe the metrics, Alabama is not a final four team", and they cite KenPom, ignoring the fact that we're 12 overall in kenpom. If you assume that there's usually around 10-12 teams capable of making the final four, then that's about right. Plus, our defense really isn't as bad as they think it is. Pretty sure we were in the 60s or 70s in defensive efficiency before Wrightsell went out the first time, so it's a little skewed bc of the rough stretch due to injuries. I hope they keep the disrespect coming. We play better that way

Per the metrics only four teams are a final four team. Lol.

But the rankings aren't intended to be a predictor of who is going to make the final four, so you extend that to include the "contenders", and every year before the tournament we always see some ESPN article saying only x amount of teams have a shot to win it all, and it's usually around 10-12, so I'm saying top 12. That lines up pretty well with our current elite 8, except for Clemson (19), and NC State (49).
