Energy vampires gone according to Saban (article)

I'd call Herbstreit an energy vampire for sure

Nah, I think Herbie is just as in shock as we are at how we've looked through three games. He truly was and maybe still is, very high on this Bama team coming into the season. The physical talent that is on this year's team merited him getting excited and this same view wasn't an outlier. Pate and Croubelic, and others saw what was returning and basically said "If they can get the QB position right, WATCH OUT!!!". Little did any of them know, and the rest of the world know, what was lying just under the surface and that was a fragile team with an Oline that so far has been awful.

Still wonder how many of the national title picks preseason....Pate, Herbie etc....were because Bama hasn't gone 3 consecutive years under Saban without winning one. Maybe they just picked it because, hey, its Bama, its year 3 and they have a huge OL. But like you said, no one had any idea how mentally fragile this team is.

What has Herbie said though? I admit I just don't follow the mid-week conversation these guys have on TV, social media, etc.

It's not just Herbie, after last week's USF performance people who normally do not even talk college football have had an opinion or comment on "What is wrong with Bama?!" I haven't stopped and listened to all of it, but just channel surfing at lunch and at night before I go to bed, it's there. I can only imagine what Paaaaaawwwwl's show has been like this week.

I didn't read it, but I saw a headline that Finebaum said that this weekend could be the end of Saban's career or that it could put his career in jeopardy or something.

It's just clickbait nonsense...we could go 1-11 and it wouldn't change the fact that he's had the most successful college football coaching career ever.

Finebaum is just another in a long line of blabbermouths who say crazy stuff to get clicks.

i'm guessing beth mowins is evie russell

Speaking of Beth Mowins, up until last Saturday I would have rather been beaten in the face with a cactus than listen to her call a football game. I have to now correct that statement and issue her an apology. I would rather listen to Beth Mowins call a football game than listen to RGIII.

We can't go 1-11, we've already won 2 games.

I think the Bama name has made us the popular pick for so long that nobody would dare NOT have Bama in the playoffs. Even after 2 losses last year, we were in the discussion all the way up to the day the pairings were announced. Same will probably be true for this season. It would take a 3rd loss to completely take us out of the discussion

im there with you man. everything’s relative 😎

I'll go out on a limb and say that if this year were to go HORRIBLY bad, like last 5 games of 2000 bad....Coach may just head to Jupiter Island and not because of feeling forced out or anything, but because he may feel that he's not up to the standard that he set upon his arrival. Granted, I don't see this year getting THAT bad
